Rain didn’t stop the Town of Middlebury from coming together for a Memorial Day Ceremony. As we mourn and honor our service members we are reminded that our freedoms are not inevitable, but the result of extraordinary sacrifice.

Changes made by Secretary McMahon will result in thousands of public sector employees being disqualified from student loan forgiveness. She may not have answers, but CT has an Attorney General who is challenging these new restrictive rules.

Federal TRIO Programs were designed to identify and provide services for individuals from disadvantaged backgrounds. Taking these workforce development programs away slams the doors of opportunity for 43,000 low income and first generation students who just need a shot.

At a time of high teacher shortages, policies of this administration to reclassify “professional degrees” makes it more difficult for new, diverse teachers to afford the necessary advanced degrees to serve in their communities.

I’m on the floor at 11pm because Republicans put forth a Farm Bill that cements $187B in SNAP cuts, gives a blanket liability shield to pesticide corporations, rolls back environmental programs & does not address destabilizing tariffs. This Farm Bill does not meet the moment for families & farmers.

It’s “Fly-in" season at the U.S. Capitol and CT05 constituents, organizations and advocates traveled to DC to bring their concerns directly to Congress. These meetings are an essential part of the legislative process.

The Benefits Advisors at EBSA serve all Americans–from navigating health & retirement plans to handling claim denials. Despite the tremendous return on investment, the Admin is proposing $10M cuts to the program. Today, Labor AS Aronowitz committed to prioritizing the program despite proposed cuts.
