It was great to volunteer with Meals on Wheels this week. They care for roughly 2,000 seniors and disabled veterans in San Diego County every year, delivering food and checking in on our neighbors. Thank you to the staff and volunteers who power this important service!

San Diego is home to thousands of Afghan refugees who risked their lives to support U.S. troops. We owe them the protection they were promised. I spoke with experts, veterans & advocates about what’s at stake for our Afghan allies, our troops, and our global leadership if we abandon that commitment.

For the first time since I came to Congress, I won't attend the State of the Union address. President Trump has shown complete disregard for Congress, the laws of our land & the Constitution, and has not respected the office of the Presidency. I don't respect him & won't attend his speech tomorrow.

The militarization of our communities is unacceptable. I introduced legislation as a 1st step to rein in a lawless ICE and hold officers who violate Americans’ civil rights accountable. I’ll work to get it passed and in the meantime, I urge my colleagues to continue to block additional DHS funding.

The App Challenge is one of my favorite annual events because these talented students will go on to power our region and our country’s innovation economy. Congratulations to Kayley, our 2025 CA50 winner, and all of those who participated in this year’s competition!

Kristi Noem has got to go. And we must have independent investigations and end the militarization of our communities. I introduced the Stop Excessive Force in Immigration Act to force DHS to abide by the same use-of-force and de-escalation standards as our local police officers. 1/2

Trump said he was going to secure our border and get rid of violent criminals. Instead, ICE is tearing families apart, violating civil rights, and making communities less safe. ICE doesn’t need more money, and it certainly won’t be getting my vote today.

From the deadly shooting of Renee Good to terrorizing small businesses in San Diego, ICE agents are clearly operating without basic safety standards or accountability—far from removing the 'criminals' that Trump promised. If anything, they're making us less safe. (1/2)

Donald Trump called himself the “President of Peace.” Now he’s pushing us into another conflict to help his Big Oil friends that does nothing to make life safer, cheaper, or better for hardworking Americans.

Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and families should be celebrating. Instead, they’re struggling with sky high prices. It’s time for the Trump Administration to get serious about tackling the cost of living and help families make ends meet this holiday season.

Last week, I joined @nbcsandiego.com to talk about how we move forward after the historically long shutdown. We still need to address the healthcare affordability crisis. I look forward to working with Republicans to make the Affordable Care Act better, not replacing it with nothing.

🚨Great news! My bipartisan Broadband and Telecommunications RAIL Act just passed the @energycommerce.bsky.social Communications and Technology subcommittee. We are one step closer to getting more Americans connected to much-needed broadband projects as quickly as possible.

Happy Veterans Day! Our Navy, Marine Corps, and Coast Guard are woven into the fabric of San Diego’s community and it’s a privilege to represent those who’ve answered the call to serve our country. I’ll always work to support our veterans and their families who’ve sacrificed right alongside them.

Immigration enforcement shouldn’t be conducted by masked, unidentified agents using unchecked force & recklessly deploying equipment like tear gas. My bill w/ @repdangoldman.bsky.social & @congressmanraja.bsky.social would curb excessive force & make it easier to identify officers acting improperly.
