From the Lionesses to the Red Roses, women's sport shows that we can build inclusive spaces for LGBT+ sportspeople. But unlike straight athletes, they risk abuse just for loving their partner. There are still no out PL footballers. We should celebrate progress made - but there is lots still to do.

Absolutely spot on from @andyburnham.bsky.social. None of us want to see the politics of division being exported from the US. We can’t carry on down this path. We must stop the poison dripping into our society. Our country is better than that. We need our govt to reflect that. #BBCQT

This year, Pride is more protest than party. Today I again raised my concerns - if these questions and others are not answered adequately by the chair of the EHRC when she comes before @commonswec.parliament.uk next week, I will be signing the fatal motion on the code of practice.

This is a miserable start to Pride month. All indicators show that the EHRC’s new code of practice will contribute to the erosion of LGBT rights in the UK. Ministers and the EHRC must show how they will protect trans people and those who don’t conform to gender stereotypes.

🚗 Taking action on driving tests Lots of constituents contact me about long wait times and unfair markups on driving tests - I raised the issue a few months ago in Parliament.

The Prime Minister needs to show he understands the scale of the challenge facing our country. Today’s speech fell short and if it is just more of the same, then he has to lay a timetable for an orderly transition. (1/3)

"Take a paracetamol and have a lie down, love" 👆 This is the daily reality for so many women going to see a GP about reproductive health conditions. This Endometriosis Action Month, I'm continuing my work on bringing down wait times for diagnosis & making gynaecology mandatory for doctor training.

Well done to all taking part in the parade, the performers and especially Luton Irish Forum for another amazing St Patrick’s day! There’s still more fun to be had in town, so get down for the last of the sunshine.😎🎶 We are one town of many voices and today the Irish voice is singing loud & proud☘️🇮🇪

Out on the doorsteps in Gorton & Denton today with lots of volunteers and the Labour family. We do this because we want to strengthen our Labour team by electing Angeliki Stogia. There’s so much we want and need to do to turn things around for our country, let us build on this strong start 🌹

We must ban liquid Brazilian butt lifts from the high street 💉 It was good to talk with Sky News about @commonswec.parliament.uk report out today is calling on the govt to do more to regulate the cosmetic surgery industry - and ban liquid BBLs and other high harm procedures now.

Powerful men who abused or benefited from the abuse of women and girls need to be held to account. I asked today for Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor to be held accountable to police & Parliament over reports he handed sensitive information to Epstein & accomplices, among other serious allegations.

Amidst the noise, we must never forget the voices of the women and children who were trafficked and assaulted for years by Jeffrey Epstein and his powerful accomplices. Mandelson should never have been pushed for the role of US ambassador, he and other hugely powerful men must be held to account.

Teams were out across Luton this weekend listening to residents. They fed back their ideas for Pride in Place funding as well as raising issues which will be taken up on their behalf. This is why we knock on doors all year round in Luton - we want to hear from you. #Luton

Big news for Luton - the government is putting £139.3million into our local services. 📈 That's 63% more over the next five years - compared to the just 1% we got from the previous government. It's so good to finally see investment in towns like ours 🫶

The cruel and outdated practice of conversion therapy has no place in our country. The govt must bring forward a trans-inclusive ban as soon as possible, and hear the concerns & fears of the LGBTQ+ community in designing and implementing the ban.

🎶 What a lovely musical way to end this week's @commonswec.parliament.uk session with incredible women - talking about how we get positive, accurate & useful women's health messaging reaching young people and improve young women's healthcare in the UK.

The Angliolini report on the heartbreaking murder of Sarah Everard is concerning reading for anyone wanting to restore trust in policing, and fight violence against women and girls. I asked the Minister what the Govt can learn from the report to deliver on our target of halving #VAWG

Cruelty does nothing to secure our borders. It's good that the Home Secretary has definitively ruled out confiscating jewellery from refugees - but our focus must now be on building a fair asylum system that prioritises safe and legal routes, not more Tory-style ineffective cruelty.

🔉What dangers does X pose to our democracy? And should the government stop using it? Good to hear yesterday from @sundersays.bsky.social and @petergeoghegan.bsky.social on the immense risk of X as it ignores legal obligations and its owner tries to influence UK politics. @commonswec.parliament.uk

A strong and impartial BBC is one of our country's greatest assets. While mistakes have been made, it is always worth protecting the principle of a BBC free from political interference.

Survivors of sexual abuse and rape are waiting too long for justice. The previous govt let our justice system fall apart. Though we have seen improvements, there must be more support for survivors. The govt must continue to work to shorten wait times and act for victims of these horrific crimes.

Hundreds of civilians were reportedly massacred at a maternity hospital in Sudan yesterday. The RSF attacks civilians and uses sexual violence as a weapon of war. The UK must do all it can to alleviate this humanitarian disaster, and ensure no UK arms are used in this horrific civil war.

As part of our #WEC inquiry into the beauty industry, we heard from experts about the difficulties in regulation. Women are being preyed on through social media and sold dodgy, dangerous services by unqualified treatment providers. We will do all we can to hold the tech companies to account.

Access to British Sign Language teaching is vital not just for children growing up with hearing loss, but also for their parents. I’m grateful to be offered a meeting with the Schools Minister to discuss more. Thanks also to the @bda.org.uk for supporting me with my signing!🧏🏻‍♀️ #BSL #Equalities

Last year our community was devastated by the murders of Juliana Falcon and her two children Kyle and Giselle. Yesterday I again raised the need to tighten access to private gun licences, and introduce a national database for all who have them. We must do more to prevent these needless tragedies.

Today marks the start of Baby Loss Awareness Week. This year, it comes as the UK is about to pass a law guaranteeing the right to bereavement leave for miscarriage, making us one of only 4 countries in the world to offer it. My heart is with everyone who experiences the heartbreak of baby loss.
