(Fortsetzung) Da in der Nähe des Nestes hohe Pflanzen dicht wachsen (Zutritt unmöglich), mussten die Altstörche weit fliegen für Futtersuche. Sogar 4 Std unterwegs war nicht selten. Trotz der schwierigen Lage wollte ein Altstorch nie Jungstörche allein lassen. Der Grund: zum Schutz vor Fremdstorch

Frankfurter Jungstörche Tag 49. An einem heißen Tag wie heute holt der Altstorch frisches Wasser für seine Jungen. Zum Glück ist die Wasserquelle (die Nidda) ganz nah am Nest #nature #birds #WhiteStork #hotday #water

(Forts.) Fremdstörche, die keinen Brutplatz haben konnten, versuchen das Nest anderer zu besetzen. Küken allein, ist die Gefahr, vom Feind angegriffen zu werden, groß. Aber jetzt können die Altstörche in der Nähe Futter suchen und im Notfall gleich zur Abwehr zurückkommen. Danke Landwirte!

Der Futterkampf zwischen Geschwistern hat begonnen. Der Altstorch hatte Mäuse für die Jungen besorgt, und da er sie ihnen nicht zügig hervorgewürgt hat, konnte das älteste Junge vier Stück allein fressen. Die anderen zwei? schienen ziemlich leer ausgegangen zu sein. 😔 #bird #chicks #fight-for-meal
