ICE seems to be using something stronger than mace, maybe OC. People who get caught in the spray are coughing, gagging, some even vomiting. Much stronger reaction than when mace was used earlier. Now they’re moving the line… just because? Agent with canister gloats about people keeping distance.

BREAKING: Activists with @sunrisemvmt.bsky.social are blockading every entrance and exit at the New York Stock Exchange in lower Manhattan in protest against billionaires and fascism for May Day, International Workers Day. Security was extremely aggressive at first and NYPD has so far detained one.

Agents moved in toward demonstrators, apparently just to move forward, forming a firming line on the rim of the pavement to the entrance they’ve been stationary at since 6am. It’s not clear why any of this is happening (or if there is a why).

Rightwingers keep walking through the supply area like they’ve discovered some secret stash. It’s just stuff people are dropping off in solidarity with the striking detainees and the protestors attempting to impede ICE activity. Feat. @dlj.bsky.social ❤️

SRG has now mobilized for about a dozen activists who are standing in front of the main entrance of the New York Stock Exchange as part of a May Day nationwide protest organized by @sunrisemvmt.bsky.social.

A former cop now working security for the building was documented shoving people into the door and out of his way. I’m told he attempted to pursue harsher charges on the demonstrators, who will be receiving violations for trespass.

NYPD appears to have created a soft circle around demonstrators at 68/Lexington, which is not in sight of the Park East Synagogue. I initially thought they were pursuing an arrest but turned out they were setting up a soft bubble that completely surrounds protestors. What a mess.

Newark PD moved people out of the pen in front of Delaney after realizing it was impeding vehicle access, then used riot shields to sweep people down the block to clear the path for a van, then swept the other way to position inside the barricade they cleared. Separated pro-ICE demo from…everyone.
