#AltText -low vision #Myastheniagravis #OvarianCancer survivor, ♿️🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🇺🇦🇵🇸✡️ I post videos of my 5400 sq ft urban-bird habitat (one mile from any green space or natural water) my dogs’ neglected account (it’s getting to hard) @kodaeris.bsky.social

84 videos

I spent the day editing my letter to the Washington State insurance commission I have not checked the cameras today. last night I saw a rat eat what might be a little Chorus frog. it’s a tough reality having cameras and trying to make habitat in a sea of concrete and invasive species.

1 0

I think this Jay is enjoying that I laid wood trellises over the pond #Birds it’s probably feels very safe

9 1

I am away with my dogs at a Sniffspot today and look who is stalking #Birds. keep cats on their own property. Keep dogs on their own property. Equal laws for Pets now. I swear I’m gonna let my dogs on a 30 foot long line in her yard one day and let her trample her plants and destroy her property

10 2

uh-oh I think this is the video that went with the voice text and this is the one where she is showing her adaptation skills

1 0

raccoons are super adaptable and persistent all wonderful qualities. There’s a reason they thrive in urban habitats. there’s a children’s book “the little engine that could” and I think we need a children’s book called “the little raccoon who could.”

7 0

my son and I went swimming at Discovery Park today. i can still swim! yeah! I was cautious at first but it became clear. such fun, we both love to be in the open water. #MG I really am having trouble keeping up with the cameras spending time with my dogs now but here is Ms. Wilson #birds

11 2

coyote was here again this morning. I think he has his new watering hole. He’s been here for the last three or five days.

9 1

oh, coyote was back this morning. I forgot to check this camera. This was at 7:05 AM. He just missed Rosie. Rosie has been hanging out in my yard too. Her selfish useless cat-owner is a human parent can you even imagine how neglected that kid must’ve been?

10 1

sorry for the poor footage the camera is facing the sun at this time of day living in Seattle. There’s not a time that the camera doesn’t face the sun at some point during the day because the sun is so high here are baby black caps. welcome babies. #Birds black capped chickadees.

15 0

here is my coda bear taking the path not making a new path 😆

5 0

here’s a different view of my back-side yard. My dogs are allowed in this space but you can see they’re getting better at not trampling the plants on the side yards anymore…. at least they rarely do so the plants can bounce back. It’s a Steller’s Jay looking for something probably a nest. #Birds

10 0

I swear these two are from the same egg…twins always hanging out together two little chestnut chickadee juveniles. at platter shallow bath I only saw two and then I saw four yesterday. I think parents mostly splits them up but their social #Birds so maybe in pairs?

12 1

pretty flicker female she’s up at the top drinking water #Birds even though it was hotter yesterday there were more birds at this fountain today I can never figure Birds out

15 0

A clear video of red breasted nut hatch using the shelf of the rectangular fountain. The nut hatch is in sunlight. #Birds

9 0

I have 142 clips just today so far at this little concrete bird bat 97% of them are hummingbirds here is one that’s not too blurry #Birds 2% percent is chickadees nuthatches then the Wilson’s was one of them

13 0

A blurry video of the male Wilson’s Warbler today he just missed raccoon. Wilson was here at 5:34 AM. at the very bottom very short clip. I hope that means he’s on parent duties. #Birds

5 0

it’s light out at 4:30 in the morning now I had another early customer at my wildlife pond. The raccoon is chewing its food probably tadpole sushi she’s native, her job is to eat tadpoles, but I’m so glad I put some tadpoles back and made some mini ponds for them where my dogs can protect them

11 0

I filled up this pond with bladder snails. It’s the mini pond. It doesn’t have any tadpoles. She passes it right over to get to the sushi bar.

7 0

and here is Red earlier today about 8 AM he’s at the Cage bath. He also is taking a woodpecker type of bath not fully wet that will come during the hot summer. #Birds

9 0

Beautiful Downy, woodpecker on one of my old cameras. There is a new 2k blink camera sitting right beside this one, but it doesn’t pick up the Downey woodpecker so you get a static low quality camera, but it actually works. #Blink 🤦‍♀️

4 0

then because the filter is not 100% I need to add water conditioner. I add 1 teaspoon water conditioner to a bowl. Put the hose in the bowl right at the edge of the wildlife Pond and let it spill over for exactly 30 minutes until I get 5 gallons. I have the water on a timer.

3 1

The water level is so low in the wildlife pond. We are getting minimal amounts of rain when we get it like .1 we have not had a significant rain since February. Here is Jay moving so far in from the shore to get a drink. #Birds

12 0

Let’s count…..one……………..two………………………..three………four! so happy to see these chestnut backed chickadee young ones they are declining in the city, but not in my habitat yard #Birds #Seattle @birdsconnectsea.bsky.social

8 0

wouldn’t it be funny if song sparrow is catching tadpoles? Sparrow is being quick to get something that must be a living this shows them striking the very quickly. #Birds

8 0

don’t know if I scared her or the Crows cawing…… …. ….maybe Song Sparrow scared her. #Birds shy female flicker, about to drink from the mini pond then quickly retreats up the hill between my neighbor and my house.

7 1

Here is Red how the mini pond flies to a stick that is sticking straight up, then lowers himself to a stick in the water to take sips #Birds Downy woodpecker male

10 2

Wilson’s Warbler. first time they have stayed in my habitat so late in the season there is a pair, male female. I don’t see them together anymore so maybe they have a nest. I’m so hopeful. #birds

14 0

oops, this slow motion video did not load we’re looking at a little bird that I thought was a bush tit but I’m not so sure. Now they usually come out just like their parents gray and a little fluffier. I see a little yellow on this bird, but it could be the lighting

2 0

let’s look at these juveniles more carefully. I slowed this down and I cropped the best I could, but of course, every time there’s an unidentified bird on my camera, it happens to be one of my old low quality camera cameras. #Birds

10 0

this female Downy woodpecker is taking a bath at the caged cat-proof bath. She’s really wet. #Birds

8 0

could this be orange crowned warbler babies? I think I see a flush of orange cropped

1 0

whose babies are this? Bush Tit? i’m not sure they’re usually in larger groups…. The broods seem smaller this year. #Birds

5 0

hey coyote meet Rosie honestly, I don’t want you to meet Rosie. I want you to meet her mom and tell her that cats matter and their safety matters so they need to be indoors i’m telling Rosie to go away she knows my voice

2 0

oh geez, Rosie was in the yard again. What is about her mom that she allows her cat into my yard during fledgling season I would like to introduce her to coyote.

3 0

leaving my yard and walking up the path of my neighbor’s yard that leads to his house

2 0

at the wildlife pond, there’s several shots here, but this is the best one he laid down and just observed it for a while, but it wasn’t a good film

5 1

coyote got to know my yard a little better today. He was in the yard this morning from about 5:30 AM to 6:58 AM. thread. 🧵

17 1

i’m glad to see that Wilson’s Warbler blends into their surrounding when they’re in the shade and they don’t look bright yellow at all #Birds

6 0

I think this is Northern yellow warbler, but the camera is glitching and they’re only lasting two seconds but I finally think I fixed it. Tomorrow’s a new day. I will try to look for other footage.

4 0

here is a Steller’s Jay taking a drink from the extra Pond plant nursery i’m not sure how but this little barrel gets six hours of sunlight it just misses the trees. I only have two other spaces that get this much sun and they’re also very small. this was filmed at 7:30 PM and it is in shade #Birds

9 0

first time that I have seen Red at the platter birdbath this was late in the day probably his last sip today was 76°. That’s the warmest it’s been this year. #Birds

7 1

if I was this little one that looks bigger than the Parent, I just wanna say, aren’t you my mother? #Birds maybe too many mealworms before bed aren’t good for Songsparrows. Maybe this bird is a different song sparrow or is now raising another brood since she only had one.

6 0

here is the female Downy. Just love these little #birds. she is getting a sip of water today at the cage for a bath. There’s a lot of native plants behind it and surrounding it.

18 1

my sweet pups….so calm. until they see squirrel koda actually goes over Eris, but he’s careful not to hurt her

7 0

Rosie so my dog was being alert. #CatsOnTheirProperty just like dogs. you don’t want my dog trampling on your flowers or running through your yard. Don’t let your cat come into my habitat.

1 0

so just because we ended up putting a frog pond right in my dog place space really close to it. There’s a lot of sedges growing and we had this old tartar trough but believe it or not you cannot make a frog pond out of a metal trough. so I will describe what you’re looking at. in this thread 🧵

2 0

top down view of Red getting into it from the ground level suet feeder this feeder also has LIVE meal worms in it so I put a carrot in it to keep it moist. #Birds

8 0

my cameras are still glitchy actually fiber doesn’t seem to be working for us at all. I don’t know why maybe because we have plaster walls? They only record some of them for two seconds. Here is flicker about to get a drink of water. #Birds I just set up a dedicated 2.4 speed mode still glitchy

2 0

Crow, probably the mom or dad soaking them. dried mealworms are one of the most nutritious cheapest things you can offer #Birds and they absolutely love them this time of year. So you can afford to offer them to all your native Birds. even this big crow get some.

12 0

I love his magnificent chinook salmon color #Birds

16 0

here is a chickadee getting a pine in here is Koda Laying on his favorite bed. He usually sleeps out here and guards the pine feeder for only the little birds. this is our back deck. We’re looking down on the coda Bear and the pine feeder.

12 0

The western warbling vireo has been singing his head off all day. I wonder if something has changed maybe he has juveniles about to come out of the nest now or they are out. #Birds he usually only sings like this during the morning chorus about 6:30 AM.

7 2

here is the female Downy Woodpecker today at the birdbath with the large cage over it just to prevent Rosie the cat from pouncing on the #birds

9 1

Handsome Spotted Towhee was singing and calling today and I heard two replies. I hope everything is well and I’m going to see juveniles soon. #Birds

12 1

Seattle gets pretty warm in the summer. We have something called a Mediterranean climate in the summer we go without rain usually only July August, September, but we’re in another drought, but my backyard is one of the coolest places because I planted all these trees years ago. I am very lucky.

12 2

today I was trying to figure out if one is young, but I don’t see the pink corners of the mouth, the coat seems to have a little lack of shine a little dull like juveniles do. this could be an older juvenile that lives further away, but needed some water or a bath. #Birds

5 0

sorry, this camera angle is crooked and he does lower himself in the water at this mini pond. This is the male Downy woodpecker. #Birds i’m sure a small bath followed, but we did not capture it

3 0

pretty Red today. at mini pond, he eventually lowers himself in the water, but the camera got cut off. I will post that after this. #Birds

5 0

here you can hear the chainsaw you can also hear a big truck and you can see a tadpole that is using the PVC pipes that I put in the pond. #UrbanHabitat

3 0

how very cruel to cut down a tree during nesting season. Some birds only make one attempt at building a nest. They have to travel to and from South America and have limited time. Wilson’s warbler is such a bird. #Birds I can hear the chainsaw at a property only two houses away. 😭

17 0

OK, this camera has a lot of static, but I have to leave it on. You have to listen to the little chickadee call as his parent comes to feed them. #Birds #ChestnutBacked

7 0

I think this is probably the female orange crowned warbler coming for a short bath early this a.m females are really cautious when they have active nests #Birds

8 0

Haven’t seen the female Wilson’s in a couple of days. They were nest building two weeks ago. Here she is or this could be a different one. The only evidence I have it is the same one is she comes early in the morning and stays for just a quick bath. #Birds she gets scared off by juvenile junco.

5 0

it’s sort of a windy rainy day. We’re not getting any rain. It’s just a light sprinkling. Koda is outside enjoying the yard Eris inside.

2 0

i’m offering very little food right now. suet cage with live mealworms for little birds ⬆️my peanut feeder, 2 cups of DRIED meal worms that lay in a platter on the ground- all these are right where the dogs can protect them and we can shoot rats. They have a camera on them. 2-Year round Suet cages &…

0 0

looking down from the top of view of juvenile wren feeding herself a mealworm there is also some suet in here. The mealworms buried themselves in the suet. so the birds have to now find the mealworms. we know it’s a juvenile because her tail feather is on top. Still have a pattern. #Birds

11 1

a different view: Steller’s Jay briefly looking at the pond plant nursery barrel. it’s a holding spot for the extra hornswort and bladder snails that gets really good sun. This is right off my front porch. native plants growing in Pots as well.

6 0

here’s juvenile Songsparrow getting her own food. She’s either jumping for grass seeds or for insects. Also at the wildlife pond. Remember, native plants are the only plants that attract the insects that birds need to feed their young. almost every bird relies on insects to feed their young. 🪶

3 0

juvenile songs sparrow growing up interestingly enough her parents did not nest here but they had a nest close by. I’m so glad that they were able to bring her here when she was young and she stayed safe. Good job parents. 🧵

6 0

female northern yellow warbler (?) bathing in fountain #Birds

13 1

juvenile Song Sparrow this morning #Birds at flat platter bird bath looking did food

7 0

the light is getting low and it’s behind us. This is the best I could do. I slowed it down and cropped it so you can see her broken, but very white eyering. when I slowed it down, it looks like she jumped for an insect. I believe this is the female. #Birds MacGillivray’s Warbler

3 0

MacGillivray’s Warbler I recognize it by it very white, but broken eye ring. I will try to zoom in on this photo and crop it. #Birds

5 0

Wait, what’s that smell? There’s something new in there my dogs smelling the pond after we put the tadpoles in today.

10 0

today we moved some of the tadpoles, only little ones I could find with my son moved them into the South pond that we covered with wire mesh. Don’t worry the frogs won’t drowned. We put burlap on the sides and we will have PVC pipe running out of the pond that the frogs can climb into.

3 0

I finally have a decent shot so this would be the Western Tanager immature female….#Birds pretty 💛

10 0

here’s the video I submitted all the photos. I cropped them and stop them. I wish someone would wait that knows what they’re doing. The thing is, this is a Jay size bird or a tanager size bird

3 0

another wet Jay, I’m obligated to post at least one a day. #Birds

12 0

Oh my goodness two babes #Birds chestnut backed chickadees

18 5

babe Chestnut Backed Chickadee #Birds

3 0

here is one more view #Birds

1 0

Western Tanager female? what do you think? #Birds

13 0

OK, I am having trouble doing the voice text and you know I cannot type the whole MG stuff. Sorry about that. i’m going to try to speak very clearly you’re looking at a raccoon in the wildlife pond where I placed the PVC pipes under the water. He lifts up a pipe and looks into it for his prize.

6 0

Her is Swainson’s Thrush she is back in my Dog play Space. I know these are the females now because they do not sing at all.
