We just passed a bipartisan War Powers Resolution in the House of Representatives with four Republican votes. Our message to the President is clear: stop the Iran War now.

Proud to secure a $3.15 million federal grant for the Santa Cruz Wharf’s Resilience and Rehabilitation Project. This federal grant isn’t just about repair, it’s about creating a Wharf and an economy that is more resilient to climate change.

Monterey's Lower Presidio is one of the most historically significant sites on the West Coast and a storied landmark for our entire nation. Proud to speak before the House Natural Resources Committee in support of my bill to kickstart the process to make the Lower Presidio a National Historic Park.

While working families are struggling with rising prices, the President wants to give taxpayer dollars to January 6th rioters who attacked our Capitol, our police officers, and our democracy. This slush fund normalizes extremism, and is why I helped introduce the SLUSH FUND Act to protect taxpayers.

Speaker Johnson and the Republican majority just punted and prevented a vote on a War Powers Resolution to stop the war in Iran. We can’t wait any longer to stop this conflict. That’s why we have to have a vote on the War Powers Resolution, not in a couple weeks, but today.

Speaker Johnson and the majority should join us to put an end to the Administration’s prolonged war in Iran. “We’ll see” how much time it will take to reopen the Strait of Hormuz is not the answer nearly 80 days into this unauthorized conflict...

“Inflation Accelerated to 3.8% in April.” These are the types of headlines that we’re going to be seeing from here on out if we continue to have an incoherent tariff policy and an incomplete strategy with the war in Iran.

This Administration’s decision to target California by withholding $1.3 billion in Medicaid reimbursements is reckless and harmful to children, seniors, and working families. I'll continue to fight to put an end to these dangerous attacks and protect the safety and well-being of our communities.

For this year’s National Day of Silence, I was honored to recognize the students in CA-19 who stayed silent to stand up for our LGBTQ community. A special thanks to Destyni Huggins from Santa Cruz for her hard work engaging Branciforte Middle School and promoting tolerance and allyship.

Had a great time at the groundbreaking of the Coyote Valley Open Space Preserve’s Heart’s Delight Trail improvement project. I was proud to secure an $800,000 grant for this project in 2024 and it’s outstanding to see those federal dollars in action helping build a more accessible trail.

The Court of International Trade’s ruling is an important rebuke to strike down this Administration’s harmful and illegal tariff policy under Section 122. As I told U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer in a Ways and Means Committee hearing, and as the Court rightly found...

This Administration continues to engage in its war with Iran without a clear strategy or definition of victory. That’s why I helped introduce a War Powers Resolution to permanently end this President’s war of choice.

I’m proud to have secured $1 million for the Guadalupe River Trail Extension Project in San Jose. This federal grant will help extend the trail so that it can connect San Jose to San Francisco and increase community access to green spaces.

The last thing families and communities recovering from natural disasters should have to worry about is an additional tax burden when they’re trying to get back on their feet. I’m proud that my bipartisan bill to provide disaster victims relief has passed the House.

In CA-19, fixing our Medicare payment system is a priority for our seniors. That’s why I've introduced several bipartisan bills to address the shortfalls in our healthcare system, and I'll continue to work across the aisle to ensure my constituents have accessible and affordable healthcare.

My bipartisan and bicameral Supporting Early-Childhood Educators Deductions (SEED) Act overwhelmingly passed out of the House! This commonsense legislation would provide early childhood educators the same tax benefits K-12 teachers already receive when covering the costs for classroom materials.

Providers are often reimbursed by Medicare below their expenses, which makes it harder for our healthcare systems to provide care to our communities in CA-19. That’s why I helped introduce a bipartisan bill to make critical reforms, including indexing reimbursements to inflation.

The purely partisan budget resolution will do nothing to end the shutdown, do nothing to reform ICE, and instead do everything to fund it with another $70 billion dollars. Instead of working across the aisle to reach a solution...
