"When I reported my rape, I never imagined not having a day in court. I've received no justice. The man who did this to me is still out there." This note was given to me at Queen's Park last week by a sexual assault survivor who didn't want to be identified. #onpoli #LydiasLaw

Yesterday, I was joined at Queen's Park by sexual assault survivors & advocates who cannot believe that a "tough-on-crime" government refuses to fix our broken justice system. My promise to them: We are not going to give up & we are going to get #LydiasLaw passed. #onpoli

On behalf of the Commonwralth Women Parliamentarians, I wish Guyanese people around the world Happy Independence Day on the 60th anniversary of independence. This is a time when Guyana honours its roots while embracing endless possibilities that lie ahead. "One people. One nation. One destiny." 🇬🇾

On May 27, we will debate Lydia’s Law, Bill 112. You cannot be tough on crime if you do not have a strong justice system. We need to ensure justice for sexual assault survivors in ON. Learn how you can show your support or attend the debate here: www.catherinefife.com/support-lydias-law

The time for justice is NOW. #onpoli

The Ford government's Bill 98 opens the door to privatize municipal water systems and undermines public trust. Water privatization is a “failed experiment” - we should know better in 2026. I'm proud to vote against Bill 98. #onpoli

A summary of #LydiasLaw, from May 2024 to now. "This has been a painful journey, and I did not know how broken the justice system was. In 2022, 1,326 sexual assault cases were stayed. In 2023, 1,171 sexual assault cases were stayed. Why are rapists walking free in Ontario?" #onpoli

Sorry I can't be at the Princess to celebrate #PressFreedomDay with Ink-Stained Wretches. Journalism is vital to our democracy & new legislation blocks reporters from filing ON govt FOI requests. There should be no barriers that protect politicians from public scrutiny. #onpoli #LocalJournalism

"As Sexual Assault Violence Prevention Month begins, can the Attorney General tell survivors why they should have any confidence in Ontario's justice system?" #LydiasLaw #onpoli

Thank you Chandra Pasma for highlighting John’s heartbreaking story. The Ford gov’s broken home care system failed John and his family. How many tragedies like this do we need before this gov will invest & act? #onpoli

It was inspirational to attend the first ever KW Titans Orange Jersey game. This was not just an event, but a moment of learning, healing, and truth in action. Thanks to Phyllis Webstad, founder of #OrangeShirtDay for courageously sharing your story. #onpoli

University of Waterloo contributes nearly $7 bn to Ontario’s GDP — generating $8.16 in economic activity for every $1 invested. Investing in our students & post-secondary sector is contributes to a strong economy. Why is the Ford govt gutting OSAP and risking this potential in an economic trade war?

By gutting OSAP grants, the Ford gov is forcing students to choose between an education and a lifetime of debt. This will create barriers to post-secondary education - while ON already has the highest youth unemployment rate across the country. #onpoli

Today, I tabled the Invest in Ontario's Infrastructure to Ensure Economic Growth petition which calls on the government to invest in water infrastructure and immediately pause relentless commercial water taking permits. #onpoli www.catherinefife.com/invest_in_infrastructure_to_ensure_economic_growth

Today, March 8, is #InternationalWomensDay2026. Autocratic govts are trying to revoke women's hard-earned rights; Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians are fighting to preserve them. When women have the opportunity to reach their potential, we all gain. #GiveToGain

Education is a great equalizer because it lifts people out of poverty by enabling them to gain qualifications that lead to better-paying jobs and more opportunities. OSAP is an investment in Ontario's future. Sign the petition at www.catherinefife.com/stop_osap_cuts. #onpoli

On February 15, 1965, Canada adopted the iconic red maple leaf for its flag. 61 years later, now more than ever, it is still a symbol of our unity and strength as a nation. Happy 🇨🇦 #FlagDay!

My office saw more renoviction cases in 2025 than we did in the previous 12 years. Municipalities have passed renoviction bylaws to protect tenants from unscrupulous corporate landlords. I hope the City of Waterloo steps up to protect tenants on January 19th #onpoli

We've seen a steady erosion of democracy in ON. Ford is shutting down the legislature until March 23 while we see record unemployment, a housing & healthcare crisis. The Leg is the only place where we can create laws to help tackle these issues. To the Ford govt: do better. Respect our democracy.
