Surrey's Steps to Change hub is based in #Woking and brings together services, such as the local authority, the police and domestic abuse charities. Tragically, the hub is one of only two in the country, because it was really eye-opening to see the support that it provides.

#Woking’s only brewery, Thurstons in Horsell, is sadly closing down because of high costs. I've demanded the Government apologises for what it's done to the hospitality sector and agrees to a debate on how it can properly support the brewing and pub sector in the future.

Leasehold reform is a huge issue in #Woking and across the country - MPs have today published a report calling on the Government to go further and faster to deliver its manifesto promise to leaseholders. Find out more by signing up to my newsletter ⬇️ willforster.co.uk

I'm ignoring the political soap opera and focusing on delivering for #Woking. This week, I'll be working on leasehold reform, pursuing a Private Member's Bill, holding South Western Railway to account, attending the new Mayor's swearing-in, and visiting Beaufort Primary School.

The Conservatives' unlawful removal of over £4 million from #Woking's council housing budget has resulted in a huge blacklog of issues - it's hardly surprising housing is the biggest issue in my post bag. I've asked the government what steps it's taking to ensure this does not happen again.

I want to thank everyone who voted in last week's local elections. The @libdems.org.uk gained control of West #Surrey Council and we won every seat in #Woking! Sign up to my newsletter to find out what I'm up to this week and what I think of Wednesday's King's Speech ⬇️ www.willforster.co.uk

Since being elected as #Woking's MP, I've made protecting vulnerable children a priority. I recently spoke in favour of Maya's Law - it's shameful that even where authorities are aware of the risk, failures in information sharing have prevented them from intervening.

I regularly meet church leaders in #Woking who raise the plight of Christians abroad. I've said in Parliament that tackling extremism and the persecution of Christians abroad needs to be one of the Church of England's top priorities.

West Byfleet in #Woking has seen a lot of development, but no investment in health services. I'm backing the @libdems.org.uk' no doctors, no development policy. Developers would be required to build practices and fund new GPs before residents move in. My petition👇 buff.ly/BBFaKWB

With the world's attention focused on Trump's illegal war on Iran, Netanyahu is annexing land in Gaza, Lebanon and the West Bank. I've pushed the British Government to join the European Union in taking a tougher line on the Israeli Government.

Postal votes have began landing across #Woking constituency. I've cast mine for local @libdems.org.uk Louise and Ian - don't forget to fill yours in too! Make your vote count (hopefully for the Liberal Democrats), so that we get a fresh start for West Surrey Council!

The @libdems.org.uk have been campaigning on housing since before we were the Liberal Democrats. I'm pushing the Government to ensure local authorities have sufficient financial resources to end rough sleeping in #Woking and beyond.

The ongoing civil service pension scandal has left thousands without payments, including a #Woking resident who gave up work to care for her husband when he was diagnosed with MND. I've pushed the Government guarantee a debate so that MPs can scrutinise this mess.

Following the tragic case of Sara Sharif from #Woking, I’ve called on the Government to fully implement the safeguarding report’s recommendations, as well as ensure proper interpretation support so everyone can fully participate in family court proceedings.

Along with others from the @libdems.org.uk, I have campaigned hard to change #Surrey County Council’s appalling approach to SEND. Local Government Reorganisation is a huge opportunity for us to change the shocking culture so that children in #Woking and beyond are put first.

Residents of Old #Woking are tired of being impacted by unsafe driving. There have been far too many incidents in recent years, including a car going through a property. I urge the Government to listen to those who have supported this petition and deliver improvements.

I've raised urgent concerns in Parliament about refugee policy, student visas and support for families facing homelessness. We need a system that is fair, workable and humane, one that protects the most vulnerable and does not create further barriers for those already in need.

#Woking deserves to be in the 21st century with tap in/tap out technology. A big thank you to all those who have signed my petition and if you haven’t please consider here: www.willforster.co.uk/wills-campaigns/trains

I’m delighted to confirm that the Government has agreed to upgrade the Goldsworth Health Centre into a Neighbourhood Health Centre. This will expand the services offered here to a one stop shop of GPs, nurses, physios, mental health workers and much more! A great win for #Woking!

The Conservatives running #Surrey County Council will stop free school meal vouchers during school holidays after Easter, leaving children hungry. I've challenged this in Parliament and will continue fighting to ensure no child in #Woking goes hungry.

At #PMQs yesterday, I asked the Prime Minister to visit my old school - #Woking High - with me, to see it’s crumbling classrooms and ensure that it urgently gets the funding it needs so my young constituents learn in a school fit for the 21st Century.

Last week, I was on @skynewsrss.bsky.social commenting about #PMQs - this week, I’ve been picked to ask a question of the Prime Minister myself! People of #Woking, what do you think I should ask?

Sara Sharif's horrific murder in #Woking exposed how homeschooling can be exploited to conceal abuse, and shows why a national register is essential. Where there are child safeguarding concerns, the right to homeschooling must be removed - children's safety must come first.

The Government will finally publish a strategy to tackle violence against women and girls this week. I recently pushed the Government to urgently respond when safeguarding reports with national implications - like Sara Sharif's - are published.

I’ve asked the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office Minister what steps the Government has taken to press Trump on a comprehensive G7 plan to seize £300bn in frozen Russian assets, including Sutton Place in #Woking, and redirect the funds to Ukraine.

I have serious concerns about the Government's court reform proposals - including scrapping jury trials. I challenged the Justice Secretary to publish the full impact assessment and let the Justice Committee fully scrutinise these proposals before a Bill is introduced.

Members of Parliament will be voting on the Budget and Pension Scheme Bill this week. I'm especially looking forward to visiting Horsell Scouts, #Woking's Ukrainian School, and Horsell's Christmas Market later this week - a wonderful way to get into the festive spirit!

There are rumours the Government wants to curb trial by jury - an appalling way to try to fix the broken justice system they inherited from the Tories. I've challenged Ministers to improve our prison system and pressed for urgent action to protect public safety and prison staff.

I've got a busy week ahead - watching to see what the Budget means for #Woking, visiting 4 schools as part of #ParliamentWeek, as well as speaking in parliamentary debates on safe and legal routes for refugees, taxes on glass bottles and protecting children from domestic abuse.

I sat on the Bill Committee for the Border Bill. I spent hours proposing amendments that would've saved taxpayers money and created safer routes for refugees - all ignored. Even Labour knows this Bill isn’t good enough, as the Home Secretary’s new measures show.

The prohibitive cost of transitioning to renewable energy is stopping people from installing it in their homes. I raised a #Woking resident's case in Parliament this week - and asked what the Government is doing to bring these costs down.
