It beggars belief that, as drafted, the Government's Health Bill could bring to an end 50 years of independent patient representation.

The Joint Intelligence Committee report describes ecological collapse as posing catastrophic & irreversible risks to the UK. I asked what steps the Ministry of Defence is taking to coordinate action across Govt. Parliament must be allowed to scrutinise these findings and the Govt response.

The first duty of any Govt is to keep the public safe. That means recognising that national security is changing. Alongside traditional threats, we need resilience against flooding, extreme heat, food, water & energy insecurity. It would be a dereliction of duty to let political drama distract us

The first duty of any Govt is to keep the public safe. @thecccuk.bsky.social could not be clearer. On our current path, by 2050 nine in ten homes could be at risk of overheating and 40°C heatwaves may become common across the UK. That is why we need a dedicated Climate Protection Unit in No. 10.

I am delighted that Eye now has a permanent post office again. For far too long, residents have been left without this vital service. With no bank in the town, having a post office is crucial for businesses and residents.

People are looking for a change in this election, but I know they want to vote for parties who will be focused on making a real difference locally. On 7th May, for change and for a strong track record of local action, Vote Green.

Christina Kenna will make an outstanding representative for West Depwade. Her experience as a primary headteacher means she brings real expertise on education. On Thursday, vote for a local councillor who will be an active representative for the community.

It was great knocking on doors with Ed Gillespie in Harleston. I know he will make a phenomenal councillor for East Depwade, which covers Harleston, the Pulhams and the surrounding villages.

I've spoken at the National Growth Debate today on the need to address energy security, bring down people's bills, and tackle climate breakdown. While today's announcements are welcome, we still need to do a lot more if we're to protect people from the increasing economic shocks.

Great to be back in Bacton with Cllr Andrew Stringer earlier this month. The Greens have a strong track record of delivering on the council, and with more councillors, we can do even more for people in the community.

Rural communities are the hardest hit by this energy crisis. Heating oil prices have doubled or more. The Government must do more, including a price cap on heating fuel.

I asked what the Govt's ambition is for access to NHS dentistry. Sadly, the Minister did not answer my question. Of course, we need dental contract reform & training places. But if we are serious about NHS dentistry being accessible to everyone, the Govt's ambition has got to be much greater.

It was great to be at Morrison’s in Diss, holding an open surgery, where people could come and talk about the issues affecting them. From potholes and the need to improve bus services to restoring our rural health services.

Average wages in Mid Suffolk are £5,500 lower than the national average. That is why Cllr Andrew Stringer and Mid Suffolk District Council secured £16 million in funding to build a new skills centre, helping the community to gain skills, access better jobs, and earn higher wages.

Great to be out again in the Wortham area with Cllr Rowland Warboys. Rowland has been an amazing district Councillor over the last 7 years, listening and responding to local needs. Rowland is standing on 7 May to be your County Councillor for Hartismere.

Great to be out again in Halesworth with Cllr Annette Dunning. She has been getting a fantastic response on the doors, a real reflection of all the work she has done in the past five years.

Today, I brought together groups from across Waveney Valley at the Corn Hall in Diss to discuss how we can inspire and inform more grassroots environmental projects. Thank you to everyone who came to our Sustainable Communities Conference.

There is much to welcome in the Govt Schools White Paper, especially on supporting young people earlier. I asked the SoS for Education to recognise that more needs to be done to improve inclusion schools & increase alternative provision for the young people who need it.

Bungay and market towns like it deserve proper access to banking. I have raised this in Parliament after residents were told they cannot have a hub because one exists seven miles away in Harleston. In rural areas, distance does not equal access when public transport is limited.

41 13

The Daily Mirror reports that of nearly 1 million urgent dental appointments commissioned by ICBs since April, 900,000 have not taken place. I asked the Minister when he expects to reach the Govt's target on urgent dentistry appointments.

The Environment Agency is under-resourced but vital for keeping our environment clean. Reform wants to cut funding for these crucial organisations, risking more pollution and fly-tipping. We need proper funding, not more cutbacks.

As your local MP for Waveney Valley, I am out across the constituency each week, meeting residents face to face as I promised. I took the 81 bus from Diss to Harleston to speak with passengers and talk to Peter from Simonds/Transport Made Simple about improving local bus services

I really welcome the National Cancer Plan, especially the Govt's intention to focus on early diagnosis and to end the scandalous postcode lottery for treatment. But the National Cancer Plan needs to be properly funded to deliver on its ambition.

We have a dental desert in East Anglia, & the UEA stands ready to open a new dental school. They have the necessary permissions, but crucially are waiting for the Govt to confirm funded undergraduate dental places. I've again pressed the Minister on when this will be available.

The Govt’s own assessment warns that climate change & biodiversity loss threaten long-term food security & worsen natural disasters. I’m pressing for a debate on the Joint Intelligence Assessment so Parliament can scrutinise this important report.
