The world is changing, from security and defence to global trade. The government is working hand in glove with business to build a stronger and more resilient UK, and expand our trading relationships with countries around the world.

For 14 years, public services were left to fall further and further behind the private sector. We either modernise or accept further decline. We will build the foundations for a modern British state — so that our public services are there for the next generation.

The government is focussed on your priorities, and making sure you see real change in your life and local community. We’ve used the Spending Review to bring public services together to work as a mission led team. Budgets will be published on June 11th.

I was delighted to join the Prime Minister to launch the new Office for the Impact Economy in the Cabinet Office this week. We’ll be working with philanthropists, charities and impact investors to deliver on the promise of change.

The Spending Review will decide how to spend tax payers money on your priorities. Rachel Reeves MP and I launched the review today. We will look at every pound spent and it will conclude in June 2025. I’ll be getting around the country to invite you to be part of the process.
