Photographer Enrique speaks on what he saw while documenting the protest at MDC on No Kings Day 3. His photo of a teen shot in the eye was published by the LA Times. Enrique also describes witnessing the use of tear gas, kettling, rubber bullets, and the presence of instigators throwing rocks

On May Day in LA, police descended upon protesters in waves outside the Metropolitan Detention Center. LAPD lined up and dispersed the initial crowd and left. They returned several times before kettling and arresting protestors, press, as well as pedestrians in the area.

I caught Sergeant Robles at a pro-Palestine march while he was redirecting cars so I spoke with him and asked what he thought. Robles said he’s had a positive experience with LAPD over the last decade, but couldn’t comment on what’s happening in Palestine
