California, our primary election is on June 2. Make sure your ballot is filled out and submitted on time. To everyone across the country, this is your reminder to stay engaged. Know your election dates, check your registration status, and make sure you are prepared to vote.

You can redraw districts, but you cannot erase the power of the people. This week, I spoke with @justinjpearson.bsky.social about our continued fight for voting rights — even in the face of efforts to silence and divide us.

We have to stay focused on what is in front of us. We must win the midterms. But we must also have a vision for when we are in power to address childcare, housing, and health care and make life more affordable.

Here in North Carolina and around the country, gas prices are too high. This is a direct result of Donald Trump's war of choice in Iran, and the American people are paying the price.

Under the current administration, Black maternal health initiatives and women’s health research are under attack. This Black Maternal Health Week, we recognize that the fight continues to ensure the health and safety of all women in this country.

Donald Trump votes by mail. But this week, he signed an Executive Order so you can’t. Why? Because he is scared of your power, and he is scared of losing the midterms.

A few thoughts ahead of the President’s speech tonight.

So many of us have been struggling as we watch the chaos and cruelty inflicted by this administration. But while on the road this year, I have been thinking about and asking the question: What makes you proud to be an American? I hope we can hold on to that as work together to rebuild as a nation.

We love our country. And that love means we do not hand our future over to this President, his administration, and his billionaire friends. We, the people, continue to fight for our future.

Last week, it was my honor to visit the National Civil Rights Museum in Memphis. As I stood on the balcony of the Lorraine Motel where Dr. King spent his final moments, I thought about what Dr. King would see if he looked at America now. What would he think? What would he say?

To the young leaders of Fisk University and the volunteers I met with the Tennessee Democratic Party: Thank you for using your voice to fight for our nation. Always remember, the power is with the people.

Last year after the election, I reflected: "When we fight, we win—but sometimes the fight takes awhile." Last night, we saw Democratic victories across our nation. I am so proud of these enthusiastic, principled, inspirational leaders who will continue to fight for our nation, ideals, and progress.

Let's get this done, California. Vote YES on Prop 50.

I voted YES on Prop 50 because we cannot let anyone silence the will of the people. California is fighting fire with fire and standing up for democracy everywhere. Vote yes on Prop 50 by mail or in person on Election Day, this Tuesday, November 4.

In our country, the power is with the people. Tomorrow, October 18, I encourage you to join your neighbors in peaceful protest at a No Kings event.
