It's hard to believe we're having the same fight for voting rights we had during the civil rights era of the 50s and 60s.   Through centuries of struggle, countless Americans have strived to make real our founders promises of freedom and equality. We won't stop that fight now.

During Teacher Appreciation Week, I surprised one of our Women's History Month honorees in her classroom. Nija Branca Bilofsky works every day to help her students learn and grow. I'm grateful for Nija and teachers like her who are changing the lives of students in Rochester.

A quick reminder on the U.S. Constitution for my Republican colleagues:   Article I, Section 4 makes clear that the President has no role in administering our elections.

President Trump is unfit for office. His actions in the last two weeks have underscored that.   I will vote to remove him, whether it's by the 25th Amendment or an impeachment vote in the House of Representatives.

We've always had a Department of Justice that was focused on protecting the American right to vote.   That's not the case with Donald Trump's DOJ. You can see how he targets groups of voters he disagrees with.   I talked about how we're going to stop him on Talking Points Memo.

The Department of Justice is now spending its time and money carrying out President Trump's cruel immigration agenda.   All they are doing is creating more chaos, confusion, and dysfunction.

Clearly, transparency is not a priority for the Trump Administration. We don't know exactly how much has been spent on Trump's war in Iran, but we do know that's money that could have had a real impact on the lives of hardworking American families here at home.
