I am proud that @libdems.org.uk introduced premium funding to ensure disadvantaged children - wherever they live - get more support at school. Ministers are proposing to "rebalance" funding and need to come clean as to who will lose out, and guarantee cash will always follow the child.

The Government is telling schools to plug a £4.4bn hole in teacher pay with so called “efficiency savings.” That’s just cuts by another name. If ministers genuinely value teachers, they should fund pay rises properly.

The Home Secretary can make promises about community policing, but without proper investment, our area will see little difference. We're losing our police front counter, with Parks Police and School Liaison Officers already cut. It's time for more than just words, we need action.

Parents and carers are concerned that reforms to the special educational needs system could strip their children of important rights. Change is desperately needed, but we must avoid trapping families in an endless doom-loop of disputes.

Right across our local area, SWR is delaying and cancelling more and more services. While I look forward to meeting with SWR's Managing Director to press these issues in person, I have, today, also called for a debate in Parliament to discuss SWR's poor service.
