The administration is disappearing people—often in the dead of night—without due process or legal recourse. They are sent to countries where they have no ties and locked in indefinite detention under brutal conditions. As one witness put it, “This is basically imprisonment without a trial.”

Republicans are attempting to pass a bill that would deport immigrants who are accused of committing fraud—not convicted, just accused. Due process is a core value of our country and it is fundamentally un-American to deport someone who hasn't had their day in court.

Former Special Counsel Jack Smith’s investigation was never about politics. It’s always been about the facts and the law. And the facts and the law show Trump tried to overturn the results of the 2020 election and he kept highly classified documents after leaving office.

Republicans are bringing a hateful, anti-trans bill to the floor that would force educators to out transgender students and prohibit the teaching of any curriculum that recognizes the existence of transgender people. This bill is disgusting and I am proud to be vehemently against it.

On the 60th Anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid, I’m thinking of the millions of Americans whose health care is being taken away because Republicans wanted tax cuts for the ultra-wealthy.

As the Dean of the New York Congressional Delegation, I proudly stood alongside my fellow New York Democrats to urge our Republican colleagues to find the courage to stand up for New Yorkers and oppose this cruel bill.

The current version of the Build America 250 bill lacks strong guardrails to ensure New Yorkers receive the investments Congress authorizes in this bill.

Republicans passed their Don't Say Trans bill that infringes on American students' First Amendment rights by censoring curricula and banning books, and could endanger children by requiring schools to out trans students in certain situations, even if doing so would put them in physical danger.
