En esta ocasión la trama empieza con unos pilotos que tienen que hacer un amerizaje de emergencia y llegan a una isla supuestamente inhabitada donde de repente presencian una batalla entre Godzilla y Anguirus.

Como en esta caída final de #Godzilla al mar. Si os fijais en la proporción de la cabeza o el tamaño de las piernas, veréis que este no es el mismo traje de esta película.

Otra curiosidad del rodaje es que esta especie de telaraña/hilo que sueltan las larvas de Mothra era un de un material bastante tóxico/irritante y eso generó muchas dificultades a los equipos de rodaje a la hora de manipularlo o limpiar las escenas.

¿Tiene batallas épicas? Sí. Pero su punto cómico le quita peso y la reduce a una película de monstruos zurrándose y ya.

Las escenas en general son bastante inconexas, se nota qué momento buscan como aquí dónde recrean la mítica escena del tren de Godzilla con la de Kong llevándose a la chica.

Lo que no se olvida fácilmente son sus efectos especiales. Se nota que Eiji Tsuburaya seguía al mando porque las escenas de lucha y destrucción son más intensas y largas. Por primera vez, Godzilla se enfrenta a un nuevo kaiju: Anguirus o Anguilas, según el idioma.

En 1964 tuvimos 2 películas de Godzilla, siendo Mothra vs Godzilla la 1a en salir en abril. Seguimos con la dirección de Ishiro Honda y en efectos especiales de Eiji Tsuburaya. La banda sonora de Akira Ifukube nos sigue acompañando con canciones muy míticas como la que se dedica a Mothra.
