This is a neat segment from an old Discovery Channel feature in 1992 on one of the BattleTech Centers (Chicago) and their immersive cockpit sim pods. I think this might be one of the 'System 1' pods, their graphics in part powered by Amiga 500s. #VideoBytes

Shivers down the spine every time seeing and hearing even a snippet of Ghost in the Shell's intro. šŸ“ŗ: Kawaii CD 02 (Poland), 2002.

I was today years old when I learned there's an unreleased Mega/Sega CD compilation of the 16-bit Strike games and that they come packaged with new SFX, CD renditions of the music, and a very awesome title screen and menu. Announced for release in 1995 but then cancelled, despite being complete.

Part of that aura comes from the intro, which has some monochrome live action footage of city streets and then space action CGI. This is the kind of stuff that always grabs my attention. It's not a great space shooter, but at least it's not an on-rails one like was more common early on in PSX.

We've got a monolith of an anniversary today: the 40th for the OG Dragon Quest for Famicom in Japan. This was a landmark release in 1986, lifting elements from the dungeon-crawling RPGs popular on Japanese PCs and reworking them for console with a dream team of writers, artists, and musicians.

I mentioned in a thread that the most cursed looking Amiga game I'd ever seen has always been 1991's Top Banana. Released originally for the Acorn Archimedes and then ported to Amiga, ST, and DOS, it's uh, an assault on all kinds of senses ;w;
