Time for a new path on homelessness policy in Minneapolis!

In order for our neighbors and communities to feel safe we need to get ICE out of our city and state. I call on elected leaders at every level of government to work alongside the City Council and community leaders towards this goal.

🧵The Frey administration is proposing that the City of Minneapolis spend at least $40 million on a “Public Safety Training and Wellness Center.”

What could you do with $40M in your community? I'm at Lake and Chicago where there are vacant lots that have sat since 2020. We could have more homes, businesses, and a more vibrant commercial corridor. I think that is a way better use of the money!

Everyone in Minneapolis agrees, or to priority is spring our neighbors targeted by ICE. The City Council passed a temporary extension of the eviction timeline from 30 to 60 days. The Mayor vetoed that and chose to stand with landlords short-term profits instead of our immigrant neighbors

Domestic violence is a major issue in MPLS that we need to address specifically. I'm committed to doing that with a domestic violence specific response!
