🧵 This week the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD) Chief, Brian O’Hara, and Hennepin County Attorney Mary Moriarty both presented to the City Council on their responses to Operation Metro Surge.

We need comprehensive public safety so that you can feel safe to walk your dog at night and everyone can feel safe talking to a Minneapolis police officer. Election is November 4th!

In order for our neighbors and communities to feel safe we need to get ICE out of our city and state. I call on elected leaders at every level of government to work alongside the City Council and community leaders towards this goal.

Davis Moturi and Allison Lussier, and their families and loved ones, deserve more than an investigation and a report. They deserve justice. The Minneapolis Police Department failed to keep them safe. Now we need to take action to make real changes and reform to ensure that doesn't happen again

There is a lot of talk about re-appointment of city officials, so I wanted to talk about it. I voted against re-appointing Public Safety Commissioner Barnette because I take my role of oversight seriously, and we deserve leaders who are tracking and being responsible with taxpayer dollars.

You have a right to walk your dog at night and feel safe and *everyone* has the right to talk to a Minneapolis police officer and be safe! We can't sacrifice one for the other, we can hold two truths at one time. I'm committed to holding those truths on city council. Vote by November 4th!
