Mayor Bass released her budget proposal for the 2026-2027 Fiscal Yr last week. In this proposal, she chose NOT TO FUND THE TGIwe INITIATIVE,& instead continues to pour more of the city’s finite resources into the LAPD at a time when TGI and immigrant communities are increasingly more vulnerable.

A few months ago, Gavin Newsom was publicly affirming support for trans and LGBTQ+ people. Now the language has shifted to being more “culturally normal.” That shift isn’t subtle and we notice it. We are human beings. Stand with the TGI community because you care, not because it looks good.
