Seeing a failure as part of a learning process towards reaching a goal is critical to growth. The older you get the more you will be able to put failures into perspective and get through them more quickly. Here’s a hug to get you through that tough time 🤗💚🤗 #hugs #failure #learning #growth #grandma
If you’ve ever stood in the card aisle unable to find a Mother’s Day card that felt honest, you are not alone. For many, this day is complicated. Whatever your story, remember it’s just a day. Let it be a day of reflection, learning, and love—whether for your mother or for yourself. #mothersday2026
On this episode of Your Grandma Green, we discuss how you are never too old for show and tell. It’s a great way to learn about what is important to others and discover interesting items that you never heard about. Check out this seed pod called “devils claw”. #nature #seeds #makebelieve #learning
Perseverance pays off. I tried multiple times to grow a pineapple from a store-bought top and failed. But last summer, I tried again—and it’s thriving. I don’t know when I’ll get a pineapple, but I’ll stay patient, hopeful, and enjoy the journey along the way. #gardening #plants #snake #patience
We don’t get invited to every party. Sometimes we have a party & cannot invite everyone. The problem arises when we assume we have been purposely left out. Gentle advice from your grandma Green: don’t take anything personally. It’s not always about you. #advice #life #parenting #selfhelp #lifehack
For those mornings you can’t mentally get out of bed: try starting slower. Just sit up. Turn your head side to side and stretch your shoulders. Tell yourself “you’ve got this” and get up. Gratitude that you have a cozy bed to return to each night. #selfhelp #growth #grandmaadvice #life #lifehack
While your own words you put out in the world are a projection of yourself, Ask yourself WHY you believe the words that define you. Evaluate why a slogan means something to you. If words you’ve been holding no longer suit you, you can let them go. #words #selfhelp #learning #growth #grandmaadvice
The graceful shape of their head, the flowing mane & tail, and riding a horse just feels like freedom. I collected Toy horses as a girl and Horsey was part of that collection. I do not remember how his tail broke off, but I remember when it happened and it was devastating to me at the time. #horse
How do I decompress? By doing small, healthy things. I like to care for and grow plants, spend time outside, watercolor, cook and bake, spend time with friends and dance. These habits are grounding and help rebuild strength to do the “adulting” stuff. #adulting #choices #learning #growth #advice
Much of our nation is experiencing extreme cold. If you are doing fine, please check in on your neighbors and see if they need anything. Please reach out to each other regardless of our differences. Only in doing this, will you discover that we are far more similar. #neighbor #love #kindness #help
Snakey is quite active. He likes to come downstairs & eat breakfast, he’ll spend time outside, smelling flowers and playing in the grass, after which it’s chore time. Snakey enjoys reading non-fiction then it’s off for a bath, a snack and bedtime. Sweet dreams. #childrenscontent #childrensstories
If you woke up on the wrong side of the bed: Pause. Breathe slowly with a hand on your chest. Put your feet on the floor and feel the ground hold you. Do one gentle thing—drink water, open a window, make your bed. Ask what would help you feel one percent better. #advice #life #happylife #lifehack
Earthworms migrate. I get that. If I see one on a manmade surface (especially when the sun’s beating down) it just doesn’t seem right and I feel compelled to assist the little guy. Using a leaf or small stick makes it easier to maneuver them into your hand. #nature #worm #smallthings #hack #earth
Two good things. Number 1: Anytime you sit or stand directly on our planet it’s like being held by our mother earth. Number 2: observing nature in outdoor light. Even if it’s cloudy, being outside, helps your body set its circadian rhythms and energizes us. #health #healthy #nature #outside #advice
When I was little, my mom bought sugar coated candy canes to hang on the tree. They were so realistic, that at night I snuck up to take one back to my bed to eat in secret. When I put it in my mouth, I realized it was plastic, and I had to sneak back upstairs and hang it back on the tree. #safety
Many of us struggle with the lack of light and it can affect our mood: my gentle advice? Even if it’s cloudy, go outside and create some spirit in your house with sparkly lights and natural elements like tree branches or plants. #moodboost #sparkle #makebelieve #christmasspirit #childrenscontent
