You're looking at an "Upside Down Jellyfish" (genus Cassiopea) & I think you can guess how they got their name. This is them most of the time: Not only tentacles up, but on the sea floor. But that's not the interesting thing. The interesting thing is they have no brain, but still can sleep.

Alligator teeth aren't especially sharp: they're optimized for high-force BITING, not chewing. There's no serrated edge for cutting/severing. So to get bite-sized pieces from larger prey, they use their 'death roll' behavior to pull off chunks small enough to swallow. Nature's blender goes brrr!🐊
