The most sacred clause in the Constitution may be the war making clause. Our founding fathers are turning in their grave watching this Republican Congress allow one man lead us into a disastrous, incompetently run war.

Trump and his national security team have learned nothing from our prior mistakes in the Middle East. Bombing a school (a incompetent mistake) and a desalinization plant (probably not a mistake) is just going to empower Iran's hardline leadership and dangerous terrorist groups.

No matter what Trump talks about tonight, remember he only cares about 3 or 4 things: covering up the Epstein scandal, convincing people he won the 2020 election, stealing the 2024 election, and sometimes his ballroom.

A group of us held a forum tonight with @votevets.org to talk about who will bear the cost of Trump's disastrous war with Iran. It won't be the Mar-a-Lago Epstein class. It will be poor and middle-class families who can't afford gas and groceries and whose kids die in vain.

The heart of our constitutional crisis in one exchange between me and Sec. Mullin. When asked a simple question - if he will obey court orders - he says he will not because some court orders are "politicized". That's not how democracy works. And that's why we are in a crisis.

Here's what I believe: no more business as usual in the Senate. We shouldn't be voting to proceed to normal legislation until Republicans schedule a debate and a vote and on a declaration of war against Iran. Let's see if Trump has the votes to authorize war. I bet he doesn't.

Trump's illegal Iran War is destined to end in failure. Already, hardline leadership is emerging that will be more hostile to America than the leaders we killed. And there is no way to eliminate their nuclear program with a bombing campaign. This whole war is pointless.

Orban copied Trump. Trump copied Orban. And in the end, the people of Hungary chose democracy and the rule of law. As will happen here too. But only if we do our work, like they did.

I want to walk you through why it’s nearly certain Trump’s Iran War is going to be a massive, deadly, trillion dollar failure. And why you should be furious he’s set us on this path.
