Requiring remotely-operated & autonomous delivery cycles to share roads with cement trucks makes sense. No big deal when a driverless pizza delivery cycle gets squished by a cement truck while vehicular cycling. A tragedy when humans are inevitably squished when forced into vehicular cycling.

Demand has increased for new functions such as telemedicine and online video games. If someone you care about has a medical emergency on an aircraft and there are no medical specialists aboard, would you want them to be helped by telemedicine? Do you ever play hi-res online video games?

What does that mean in terms of action? Will you refuse to use any services developed or delivered using AI, including the majority of medical services, all internet services, and many movies that include special effects? The oil industry creates suspicion of electric vehicles to maintain power.

Instead of discarding data center waste heat, it's smarter to use the heat to grow fresh healthy, pesticide-free food in northern greenhouses from Nebraska to Alaska This saves massive amounts of diesel fuel trucking-in food over long distances. Also helps stabilize fresh food prices.

Inventory taxes are often a big part of this. When a state imposes inventory taxes, merchandise is warehoused in buildings in adjacent states that don't have inventory taxes. Result is longer commutes for warehouse workers, more freight trucks on highways, more diesel consumption, more death.

This is one of the reasons why overentitled delivery drivers are being replaced by autonomous delivery vehicles. Remotely-operated or autonomous delivery cycles can slash delivery cost by 95% or more. No big deal if such a delivery cycle gets squished by a bus or cement truck. No risk of dog bites.

Prevention is the best approach. Better driver training to counteract media that glorifies reckless driving. Mandatory graduated licensing. Higher bodily injury liability insurance minimums price many reckless drivers off the roads. Prison for knowingly driving without license or insurance.

Speed cameras save lives by getting reckless drivers off the road. Data centers save lives too by reducing the need to drive. By ordering groceries to be delivered instead of driving to pick them up, for example. Especially for elderly drivers. Or tired drivers of any age. Also telemedicine & AI.

The world has evolved while public transport is stuck in the 1950s. Public transport would be OK for more people if it included autonomous taxis & shuttle buses of various sizes - including autonomous weatherproof single-seat taxis for people on prescription meds that impair driving judgement.
