This is a great video essay about how women's desire has been devalued and that's led to the death of romcoms in Western media. The only thing missing is no mention of kdramas or cdramas.

I think the "owner" who adopted the stray dog is the 2ML & he's going to use it to blackmail Seo-ri. But in this life Se-gye is going to save the dog & he'll be part of their HEA. I'm guessing this bc we never saw the "owner" and they called a lot of attention to the scene. Also doggo is sho cute

I'm watching #ZhanZhaoAdventures and the fight choreography is fantastic but I'm lost with the plot. I think if you're not familiar with the source material you'll struggle to keep up with the exposition dumps. Luckily the charming leads and kickass wuxia moves are still hella entertaining #cdrama

This shot from ep 8 of #LongVacation #Jdrama may be my very favorite in any drama I've watched. Love the creativity in using the built environment and sound design to tell the story at a time when there was no CGI or AI and the shot had to be set up via walkie talkie and a prayer that you'd nail it.

Check out his films, starting with the Rurouni Kenshin films which made him a big star. His action scenes are epic! But he also has lovely quiet films like If Cats Disappeared From the World.

I'm rewatching #LongVaction which is one of the most iconic #Jdrama romances of all time and I love it for a lot of reasons, including this: they gave the U-turn of love scene to the FL instead of the ML.

This is going to be a fun challenge! For best sibling(s) I'm shouting out Hui Ju's brother and sister-in-law in #PerfectCrown. They are super funny, protective of their sister and have a loving and supportive relationship with each other. #dramasupportchallenge

Gong Seung Yeon was amazing throughout episode 10 and I had trouble choosing a scene to spotlight her but I went with her scene with the little king because it was poignant and she made me tear up. Her character writing is a mess but she's making the Queen Mother sympathetic despite her behavior.

Okay, here's my shout-out to the two people who are the main reason I'm still watching #PerfectCrown. Starting with Steve Noh, aka Noh Sang Hyun in a small but important scene where his microexpressions are hard carrying every emotion. The character writing is 💩 but he is a 🌟 #kdrama

I started watching The Forbidden Marriage which has been on my watchlist forever and it's super cute??? I know a lot of people like to hate on Kim Young Dae but I think he's really funny and charming in light comedy and um he looks like this 😳 #kdrama

#ChinguChallenge Day 12 Comedy: A Dream Within a Dream could totally fit here but since it's already on the list I'll go with Cherry Magic #jdrama which is the sweetest, funniest, fluffiest #BLDrama you'll ever watch. It's like a basket of puppies perched on a pink unicorn surrounded by rainbows.

Poor Liu Yuning thrilled he was able to ride a bus like a normal person 😭😭 I think he's a natural introvert despite his livestream persona and he's struggling with the crowds that mob him everywhere he goes #cdrama

Meanwhile, the FL Chu Sang Ah vacillates between being painfully fragile and um severing a m.f.'s spinal cord from behind. And truly that shit was deserved. The show features multiple SA scenes that are not explicit but the fear on the women's faces, not to mention the vomiting, are hard to take.

The director is doing some very interesting things with the lighting and makeup in this. For example, when JJH is about to do something completely John Wick for his wife his face is lit in an odd way.

Ju Ji Hoon being the creepiest knight, the maddest simp™ is sending me. He has no moral code but truly loves his wife. Stalks her constantly but will kill a m.f. who messes with her. He's a kdrama dream man but the nightmare version via John Carpenter. And absolutely hot to death being psycho.
