Through the story of Shane and Ilya, as well as Scott and Kip, audiences have been able to go through a very accessible and thus relatable journey to arrive at two very different versions of victory over adversity. One is loud, in a spotlight to applause. The other is a quiet family meal.

That’s a very terrifying moment for Percy. Realizing that he has more in common with Luke than he thought shakes him. He’s telling Annabeth because he trusts her more than himself and because she knows Luke. This isn’t about declaring his love for her. It’s a warning, to protect her from him.

And the cinematography is doing a shit ton is storytelling showing how much Shane and Ilya have in common in by showing them each in almost identical shots, both of them losing a game to the other and both of them being check out while their parents talk to other people about them.

All this aside, I wanted to point out something really important that Kaeiln did in her video that we need more people doing right now. She documented how she used the internet to answer a question. The sites she visited and found a journalists doing this work. All without any use of AI.
