Young people see how the impacts of climate change will make life harder on so many levels for Mainers. I’m grateful that they trust me to lead. They know I won’t shy away from big fights with powerful polluters and I’ll take action.

Some of my favorite moments on the campaign trail are when I run into people who I’ve met in other stages of my public service career. This one was truly special. 16 years ago, I cared about making Maine a better place just as much as I do now.

We cannot solve Maine’s housing crisis by thinking small. We need to build faster, invest in communities, and dramatically increase housing production so working people can actually afford to stay here in Maine.

The path to winning starts with listening. That’s how I’ve always led, and it’s how we win in November.

No one is coming to save us. It is up to us to build the type of future we want to see in Maine. That has been a guiding force in my life growing up in a small community where you depend on your neighbors. That same approach, showing up for our neighbors and each other, will guide me as governor.

Before I decided to run, I sat down with my kids and asked what they thought about mom running for governor. It wasn't an easy decision but both told me to go for it, because they know this moment matters. I'm so proud to have their support. Happy Mother’s Day to all the moms who step up every day.

From serving as chair of my local school board to Speaker of the House, I've spent my entire career fighting for Maine people and working to deliver real results. I’m ready to do exactly that as your next governor.

Attorney General Aaron Frey knows the next governor needs to stand up for the rule of law while our reckless president abandons it. I'm ready to do that.

This primary in June is about more than just picking favorites. We need to elect our strongest fighter to win in November, and I know I’m the woman who can do it.
