In 2025, due to scheduling quirks, G156 needed to stop for 16 mins at Zaozhuang Station and let three trains serving faster stopping patterns to pass. Meaning if you took train G156 you get non-stop Chinese HSR passing action, with 6 trains passing during those 16 mins.

A someone got off their HSR train and spotted a pair of CR450 series resting at Chongqing North Station two days ago. Both trains have a design speed of 450kph and a rated service speed of 400kph.

Two of China's next generation CR450 series high speed train sets were spotted testing on the newly opened Chongqing-Qianjiang HSL last week. The CR450 series are planned to operate up to 400kph in revenue service on the Chongqing-Chengdu Central HSL.

A few days ago, China builds and opens an elevated fully automated light metro in Kazakhstan and then calls it "Light Rail". Costs 80 million INT$/km to build tho.

The six track (eight in some parts because of Hangzhou Metro L18) southern approach to Hangzhou E Station running thru Xiaoshan south of the Qiantang River is a railfan hotspot due to density of long distance train services. Here you can take a continuous video with 10 trains in a short period.

Yesterday night, a +20 year old Alstom 4 car southbound Shanghai Metro Line 5 train was disabled at Chunshen Road Station. It seems Shanghai Metro told an in-service 6 car CRRC Line 5 train to reverse back and rescue the train to drag it back to the depot while still serving passengers on the way.

The Taiwanese band Mayday (五月天) was performing a massive multiday series of concerts in Beijing's Bird's Nest Stadium last week (in May). A bunch of fans from southern China piled on a high speed sleeper train travelling over 2,000 km overnight from Shenzhen and Guangzhou bound for Beijing....

A railfan at around 11:00PM captured a period on the Beijing-Guangzhou HSL where China Railways schedules a pack of 8 high speed sleeper trains heading to various destinations in south China from Beijing. Lead by an inspection train all 9 trains cleared this section in 2 hours.

Today the bottom half of Wuhan's monster ring metro line opened. This bottom section is 35 km long, fully underground, with 23 stations and uses 6 car Type A fully automated metro trains. This extension pushes the 21 year old Wuhan Metro to over 550km long. Video by 丶文 吇...
