A few days ago, China builds and opens an elevated fully automated light metro in Kazakhstan and then calls it "Light Rail". Costs 80 million INT$/km to build tho.

In 2025, due to scheduling quirks, G156 needed to stop for 16 mins at Zaozhuang Station and let three trains serving faster stopping patterns to pass. Meaning if you took train G156 you get non-stop Chinese HSR passing action, with 6 trains passing during those 16 mins.

A railfan at around 11:00PM captured a period on the Beijing-Guangzhou HSL where China Railways schedules a pack of 8 high speed sleeper trains heading to various destinations in south China from Beijing. Lead by an inspection train all 9 trains cleared this section in 2 hours.

So apparently in the Nanjing area for this year's Labour Day (May 1st) holiday, It's a local meme to go to the neighbouring city of Ma'anshan for day trip tourism now that a metro line connecting Nanjing to Ma'anshan opened last week. Leading a sudden rush of people riding....
