Two years ago, I became the first African to receive the Jaime Brunet International Prize for documenting “more than a hundred human rights abuses committed by mercenaries from the Wagner Group and their allies in West Africa.” Sadly, Wagner atrocities still continue in Africa.

Russia is engineering a migration crisis for Europe, spreading disinformation across West Africa to push desperate people toward deadly Mediterranean routes, while private militias control smuggling networks in Libya. The aim is to destabilize & divide the EU. Time to counter it.
