I am proud to announce that my bill H.R. 3709 which provides critical resources to small banks, unanimously passed the House and now awaits Senate passage. This is a critical step forward to empower the small banks that our communities depend on. 🎉

My bill, the Free Credit Scores for Consumers Act, ensures access to free credit scores and credit reports and disclosure of how scores are calculated. A more accessible and transparent credit reporting system is essential to put Americans on the path to financial success.

This week, I co-led a CBC Special Order Hour on Black history in the military. Since our nation's founding, Black Americans have answered the call to serve, even without the freedoms they were asked to defend. I am thankful to have celebrated the brave service members that defend our country.

The Trump Administration is holding up critical funds that the American people need for affordable housing. When pressed, Secretary Bessent couldn't give me a clear answer as to when critical CDFI funds will be disbursed to communities in need.
