Today, Sec. Mullin yet again tried to defend ICE’s lawless deportation dragnet by asserting that they are going after the “worst of the worst.” Nobody is fooled by this flat-out lie. In fact, ICE has been violating their own policy for a year by arresting people at immigration court.

One year after ICE began snatching people outside immigration court at 26 Federal Plaza, the Trump admin is accelerating its lawless deportation agenda with mega master hearings designed to fast-track removals and eliminate due process.

When I was at Delaney Hall this week, I heard firsthand about the cruel and inhumane reality inside. One detainee showed me horrific infected blisters on his back from scalding shower water. Another is forced to perform 40 haircuts a day, earning a measly $4 for hours of labor.

The treatment of detainees inside Delaney Hall is appalling. Lack of medical care. Insufficient and sometimes infested food. Overflowing sewage, overcrowding, no outdoor time, and blatant retaliation.

Alongside Coast Guard Captain Jonathan Andrechik, I had the honor of laying a commemorative wreath for the lost crew of the USS Intrepid. We owe them a debt of gratitude we can never truly repay.

UPDATE: I was back at 26 Federal Plaza for my weekly oversight visit today after ICE openly flouted the law on Tuesday by making a courthouse arrest right after a federal judge explicitly banned them. Officers confirmed no new arrests have been made since that unlawful detention.

The DOJ’s indictment of the SPLC is a complete abomination that is designed solely to muzzle an organization that correctly calls out hate on the far right.  Acting AG Todd Blanche went on TV to claim the government “had no idea” that the SPLC used informants to gather information on hate groups.

While I'm pleased that my office was able to help free the young man wrongfully arrested at 26 Federal Plaza yesterday, this never should have happened in the first place. ICE didn’t make a mistake. They chose to outright defy a federal judge’s explicit ban on courthouse arrests at 26 Fed.

As we approach the 25th anniversary of the worst attack on American soil, we must enshrine the memory of the nearly 3,000 loved ones we lost, the first responders, and those still dealing with 9/11-related illnesses.

Today I conducted my weekly oversight visit at 26 Federal Plaza, and it’s safe to say that Mullin's regime is no different than Noem’s. Three of the 17 individuals being detained were arrested after simply showing up for their required ICE check-ins.

The vote to approve this merger is shameful but only the first step in the process to stop it. This deal attacks the First Amendment and enriches Trump’s billionaire cronies, all while harming jobs in NYC’s film industry and suppressing the diversity of voices in news and entertainment.

After making an appointment in advance, despite my lawful right to conduct unannounced visits, ICE let me into the detention facility at 26 Fed today, where I saw only 3 detainees & none being processed. it is clear that ICE is rushing detained immigrants out of NY to avoid going to federal court.

Stephen Miller is trying to rig the election. His plan escalated from militarized agents terrorizing our streets to Patel targeting voter rolls in Fulton County. I introduced an amendment to stop the federal government from seizing election records or voting machines. Senate Dems must add it now.
