Happy to report after my weekly oversight visit at 26 Fed today that detainee numbers are down & there were no courthouse arrests. An encouraging development. Our immigrant neighbors who are simply following the rules & attending their routine check-ins and hearings should not have to live in fear.

UPDATE: I was back at 26 Federal Plaza for my weekly oversight visit today after ICE openly flouted the law on Tuesday by making a courthouse arrest right after a federal judge explicitly banned them. Officers confirmed no new arrests have been made since that unlawful detention.

The treatment of detainees inside Delaney Hall is appalling. Lack of medical care. Insufficient and sometimes infested food. Overflowing sewage, overcrowding, no outdoor time, and blatant retaliation.

When Trump cronies and election deniers are put in power across our country and this administration, Trump and Bondi are making it clear that expertise and integrity don’t matter, only loyalty to Trump and his lies.   As Jack Smith warns, that is how trust in justice and elections collapses.

ICE denied me entry into their detention facility at 26 Fed for my weekly, unannounced oversight visit, citing Sec. Noem’s "new" policy requiring 7 days’ notice. A court has already ruled that members have a statutory right to conduct oversight, but DHS has concocted a bogus reason to keep us out.

This young chap is just out here trying to sell solar panels, but his signage has people convinced he’s campaigning for governor. Now they’re calling him up saying they want to vote for him, and he’s being told to go to meetings like it’s the start of a real political run.😆
