28th April 2022. A date that changed history for the British Sign Language community. 🗓️ Do you know why this date is so significant? It marks the Royal Assent of the BSL Act. While official recognition is a massive victory, at Signalise, we know that recognition is only the beginning.

Inefficiency is expensive. Access shouldn't be. Did you know that every missed appointment costs the NHS around £160? Why pay for mistakes? 💸 For Deaf patients, the impact is even greater. The issue is rarely the interpreter, but the system used to book them.

Why join now? Because co-ops grow when people join. Not the other way around. If we wait, nothing changes. Signalise expands region by region and is shaped by the people who use and provide the service. The co-op begins when the people do. Be part of building the future of communication access.

If an interpreter did not show up, the problem is often not the interpreter. It is the system. In traditional agency models, bookings can be unclear, unconfirmed or not communicated to you. At Signalise, an interpreter is only confirmed when you receive an SMS. No SMS means no confirmed booking.

A co-op is only as strong as its members. At Signalise, we do not wait for contracts to build community. We believe that every co-op begins with the people, which is why we build the community first! 🤝
