Tired of missed appointments? It doesn’t have to be this way. Do you always get a BSL interpreter for your health appointments? Too often, you ask for an interpreter, but no one arrives. Requests can be logged or entirely missed, leaving you wondering who is responsible.

We all know the saying: "Buy cheap, pay twice." In community interpreting, this isn't just a saying—it’s a systemic failure. When contracts favor the lowest fees over quality, we end up with a false economy.

At Signalise, our work goes far beyond booking professionals. We are committed to tackling health inequalities by using outreach workers right in the heart of the community. We don't guess what Deaf users need; we hold user-led member strategy meetings to ask them directly.

What even is a worker member? Our worker members are the heart of the co-op, the Communication Professionals who deliver language services, and the Signalise staff team. In agencies you can invoice.

Who books your interpreter affects your access. In agency systems, Deaf people are often left out. You do not choose who comes and you do not always get updates.

We don’t treat workers like suppliers. We are the suppliers! That is the difference between Signalise and traditional agencies. We are a co-op built by the very people doing the work, which means we operate on trust and transparency, not just transactions.
