Together with @ecodiya.bsky.social, we visited villages in Ukraine, where the Danish company Goodvalley runs large-scale industrial pig farms. After the facilities were expanded with IFC's support, people in the villages began to notice serious negative impacts, especially on the water environment.

☀️Renewable capacity is growing across the Western Balkans, but mostly as large, centralised additions to outdated grids. ⚡While power transmission systems have their own issues they need to resolve, distribution grids are most lagging in investments to speed up the transition.
