Earlier this week, I joined a bipartisan majority in passing a War Powers Resolution to end President Trump’s illegal war in Iran. Congress cannot sit on the sidelines while America is dragged deeper into another costly war with no end in sight. The legislation now heads to the Senate.

Bill Pulte has no national security or intelligence experience. But President Trump just put him in charge of America’s intelligence community anyway. Americans deserve intelligence leadership focused on protecting our country — not helping carry out a political revenge tour.

The Trump Administration diverting FBI agents away from counterterrorism and counterintelligence work to support immigration enforcement makes America less safe. We should be focused on preventing threats to the homeland — not pulling agents away from the work that keeps Americans safe.

For decades, presidents of both parties have followed a clear rule: the U.S. does not consult Beijing on arms sales to Taiwan. President Trump appears ready to break with that approach. Weakening deterrence invites aggression — and risks war.

As Jewish American Heritage Month comes to a close, I’m proud to celebrate the countless contributions Jewish Americans have made to our country and our world. At a time of rising antisemitism, we must continue to stand shoulder-to-shoulder against hate.

We need to end the war in Iran. Congress cannot sit on the sidelines while President Trump drags us deeper into a conflict with no end in sight. Every day this war continues, it mounts in costs, depletes our munitions, and erodes our national security.

Days after a horrific attack at a San Diego mosque, some politicians are still openly trafficking in anti-Muslim hate. When a Member of Congress says “we need more Islamophobia,” we should call it what it is: dangerous bigotry.

6 4

As Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month comes to a close, I’m grateful for everyone celebrating the contributions Asian Americans have made to our country and standing up against bigotry and hate. We must remember: *E pluribus unum* — out of many, one.

6 1

You don’t prevent another attack on our democracy like January 6 by rewarding the people involved. President Trump’s new slush fund could use $1.8 billion in taxpayer money to benefit political allies — including people convicted of January 6 crimes. That encourages political violence, not less.

8 2

Days after the horrific attack at a San Diego mosque, and as some politicians traffic in Islamophobia, I discussed the rise in anti-Muslim hate at an Intelligence Committee hearing marking 25 years since 9/11. We should call this what it is: dangerous bigotry — and confront it wherever it appears.

Congress cannot allow the Trump Administration to start another unauthorized war — in Cuba or anywhere else. As we work to end the war in Iran, Congress must act preemptively to prevent another illegal conflict before it begins.

Students and families deserve the best available information when choosing a college. That’s why I’m working to pass the bipartisan College Transparency Act so families can better compare college costs and career outcomes and find the school that’s right for them.

No one connected to Jeffrey Epstein’s trafficking network should escape scrutiny. As Congress prepares to question Sarah Kellen, we must follow the facts, release the files, and follow the money — including more than $1.5 billion in suspicious wire transfers.

10 2

President Trump sued his own Administration for taxpayer money and now a slush fund financed by a $1.8 billion settlement could reward his political allies — including people convicted of January 6 crimes. Congress should not allow taxpayer dollars to be used as political payback.

5 2

Continuing President Trump’s illegal war in Iran only weakens America while driving up costs for working families. A prolonged conflict drains our resources and creates new opportunities for our adversaries.

10 4

President Trump’s China policy should serve the American people — not his family’s business interests. The American people deserve transparency when private financial ties could shape decisions with enormous consequences for our economy and national security.

8 3

We cannot allow the Trump Administration to continue sidelining survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s trafficking network. Last week, survivors courageously testified before Oversight Committee Democrats in West Palm Beach. After decades without justice, survivors must have it.

7 3

Xi Jinping put Taiwan front and center in his meeting with President Trump. The United States must uphold the Taiwan Relations Act, stand firmly with the Taiwanese people and their democracy, and make clear that Taiwan is not a bargaining chip.

10 3

There are reportedly $1.5 billion in suspicious wire transactions tied to Epstein’s network that Treasury still hasn’t turned over. The American people deserve to know where that money went, who was involved, and what these records could reveal about the full scope of Epstein’s trafficking network.

12 4

Ghislaine Maxwell should never receive a pardon — but she was far from Epstein’s only co-conspirator. The DOJ identified others years ago, yet only Epstein and Maxwell have faced prosecution while key names remain hidden from the public. Survivors deserve answers and justice.

11 6

The DOJ identified multiple Epstein co-conspirators years ago — and at least six names are still being hidden from the public. Meanwhile, survivors are still waiting for justice. The cover-ups and protections for powerful people need to end.

11 10

Donald Trump should listen to survivors, release all remaining Epstein documents, and investigate every remaining enabler tied to Epstein’s abuse network.

23 14

The Treasury Department is still withholding Epstein-related Suspicious Activity Reports tied to $1.5 billion in wire transfers. These records must be released immediately.

17 7

Ghislaine Maxwell must never receive a pardon or clemency. Today, at a hearing with Epstein survivors, I made clear that Maxwell has shown no remorse and taken no accountability for her role in Jeffrey Epstein’s abuse network.

Today, the Oversight Committee convened survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s sex trafficking scheme to tell their stories directly before Congress. These survivors have been denied justice. We must keep fighting for accountability, transparency, and justice for every survivor.

Yesterday, the Oversight Committee unanimously passed my bipartisan bill to strengthen training for federal workers to reduce fraud and waste while protecting benefits for Americans who qualify. I spoke about the importance of this legislation during the markup:

5 1

Yesterday’s hearing with Pete Hegseth on Donald Trump's war was a disaster. He claimed this conflict costs $25 billion. Not even close - that's a fraction of the truth. Americans are paying the real price—$5 gas, higher food and fertilizer costs, everything going up. End this war now.

18 6

If Donald Trump pardons Ghislaine Maxwell—who helped Jeffrey Epstein traffic girls—it sends a clear message: One set of rules for the powerful, especially those tied to Trump. Another for everyone else.

20 11

Voting on the Farm Bill as soon as tonight. It matters—for our farmers and for families who rely on SNAP. Right now, cuts aren’t being restored and people are being kicked off over unnecessary red tape—not a lack of work. I’ll be voting NO.

6 2

Ghislaine Maxwell—Jeffrey Epstein’s co-conspirator and a convicted sex trafficker—must not be pardoned. She hasn’t told the truth, hasn’t shown remorse, and survivors are still waiting for accountability. Donald Trump must take a pardon off the table—now.

66 19

A new study from Harvard Medical School confirms 988 is saving lives—yet the Trump Administration shut down the LGBTQ+ youth “Press 3” crisis line. I helped secure funding to bring it back. The Trump Administration needs to restore it now—lives are at stake.

11 4

At the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, there were clear security lapses. The outer perimeter was porous, and the assailant got dangerously close to the ballroom. We need answers and accountability—and I’m pursuing them on the Oversight Committee.

2 1

Your voting rights are under attack: a new Trump executive order could shut down access to mail-in ballots for millions of Americans. I’m working with my Democratic colleagues on the House Oversight Committee to defend every American’s right to vote.

3 3

I spoke with Alex Witt about how “Operation Epic Fury” has become an epic disaster. This war is costing American lives, raising prices, and strengthening our adversaries. Time to end it.

2 0

Outrageous and unacceptable—Donald Trump attacking India and Indian Americans with rhetoric that fuels prejudice and hate. We should be bringing people together—not tearing communities down. Enough is enough.

9 3

Violence has no place in our politics. Grateful no one was harmed at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner—this should be a wake-up call. We need to stand united against political violence.

5 2

Corruption and insider trading are at the heart of Trump’s chaotic Iran war decisions. People around the Trump administration are playing in prediction markets and trading stocks—profiting off flipping war and peace—and it has to stop. I’m investigating. This illegal war must end.

8 3

Parents shouldn’t have to wonder if baby food contains dangerous levels of toxic heavy metals. My investigation helped trigger the first federal limits—now I’m reintroducing the Baby Food Safety Act to strengthen standards and enforcement.

14 5

Donald Trump pardoning Ghislaine Maxwell in exchange for testimony to help himself would be beyond outrageous. She helped run a child sex trafficking ring. I’m going to keep fighting for justice for the survivors.

10 2

We were in the House until 2:30 a.m. last night because of GOP mismanagement of FISA—the law that governs U.S. surveillance authorities. Rushing something this serious through in the dead of night isn’t governing. The American people deserve transparency and accountability.

18 10

Congress must vote today to pass the Iran War Powers Resolution and end Donald Trump's illegal, unconstitutional war with Iran. American lives have been lost, innocent civilians are being killed, and families are facing rising gas prices and higher costs.

17 8

The war in Iran should never have begun, and it must end now. The human toll is rising, and families here at home are already paying the price at the gas pump. I’m continuing to push for a War Powers Resolution in Congress to end the hostilities and bring costs down.

11 6

Today, the House passed my bill to rename the Palatine Post Office in honor of Bernie Bluestein — WWII hero, Ghost Army veteran, and beloved leader in our community. A long-overdue tribute, and one that will help keep Bernie’s legacy alive in Palatine for generations.

8 4

Donald Trump’s reckless escalation with Iran is putting American lives and our national security at risk. The only way to end this war and protect Americans is through diplomacy and coordination with our allies—not more chaos and reckless rhetoric from this White House.

18 6

The Senate passed a bill to fund DHS except for ICE and CBP—something I would support. But Republicans, including Donald Trump, now want to bankroll the whole agency. I can’t support a bill that sends another dollar to ICE or CBP.

79 28

No more roving, masked ICE or CBP agents in our cities. Until there are real reforms—IDs on, body cams on, warrants required, independent investigations—I will oppose ICE and DHS funding. Period.

29 8

This week, I laid out what DHS did in the Chicago area after promising to “make America’s cities safe again”: pepper-sprayed a one-year-old, tased a U.S. citizen, tear-gassed neighborhoods, tackled an 18-year-old, and shot a witness five times.

35 12

I joined some friends in Elgin today because yesterday’s killing by Trump’s DHS was a murder. No agency should be allowed to take a civilian’s life and escape accountability. I will continue to oppose DHS funding until there is real oversight, transparency, and justice.

41 7

I am horrified by what happened in Minneapolis. Another civilian shot in the street by Trump’s DHS. This is beyond unacceptable. I will continue to oppose ICE funding and to fight for real accountability as we see federal agents repeatedly use deadly force without consequences.

26 8

Shadene Butchart has ALS. Because the GOP let the ACA tax credits expire, her health care is now unaffordable, almost costing her husband’s entire Social Security check. I voted to restore these tax credits today for Shadene and the 550,000 Illinois families who need them.

9 3

I’m introducing the NOVA Act to block any taxpayer-funded occupation of Venezuela and stop U.S. tax dollars from subsidizing oil companies there. Congress has not authorized “running” Venezuela, and American families shouldn’t be forced to pay for it.

26 11

Instead of working to lower premiums and health care costs, Republicans are more worried about throwing parents and doctors of transgender youth in jail. No parent should fear prosecution for trying to get their kid the care they need.
