This week, I laid out what DHS did in the Chicago area after promising to “make America’s cities safe again”: pepper-sprayed a one-year-old, tased a U.S. citizen, tear-gassed neighborhoods, tackled an 18-year-old, and shot a witness five times.

Yesterday, the Oversight Committee unanimously passed my bipartisan bill to strengthen training for federal workers to reduce fraud and waste while protecting benefits for Americans who qualify. I spoke about the importance of this legislation during the markup:

Ghislaine Maxwell—Jeffrey Epstein’s co-conspirator and a convicted sex trafficker—must not be pardoned. She hasn’t told the truth, hasn’t shown remorse, and survivors are still waiting for accountability. Donald Trump must take a pardon off the table—now.

We were in the House until 2:30 a.m. last night because of GOP mismanagement of FISA—the law that governs U.S. surveillance authorities. Rushing something this serious through in the dead of night isn’t governing. The American people deserve transparency and accountability.

Students and families deserve the best available information when choosing a college. That’s why I’m working to pass the bipartisan College Transparency Act so families can better compare college costs and career outcomes and find the school that’s right for them.

Today, the House passed my bill to rename the Palatine Post Office in honor of Bernie Bluestein — WWII hero, Ghost Army veteran, and beloved leader in our community. A long-overdue tribute, and one that will help keep Bernie’s legacy alive in Palatine for generations.

For decades, presidents of both parties have followed a clear rule: the U.S. does not consult Beijing on arms sales to Taiwan. President Trump appears ready to break with that approach. Weakening deterrence invites aggression — and risks war.

We cannot allow the Trump Administration to continue sidelining survivors of Jeffrey Epstein’s trafficking network. Last week, survivors courageously testified before Oversight Committee Democrats in West Palm Beach. After decades without justice, survivors must have it.

Ghislaine Maxwell is petitioning for leniency. Let me be clear: No way. No how. She enabled and perpetuated unimaginable abuse. There must be zero clemency, zero pardons, and zero leniency for someone who helped destroy so many lives.

You don’t prevent another attack on our democracy like January 6 by rewarding the people involved. President Trump’s new slush fund could use $1.8 billion in taxpayer money to benefit political allies — including people convicted of January 6 crimes. That encourages political violence, not less.

I had hoped to lean more into the paint aesthetic, adding more tile types and making it more slippery, and adding more puzzle elements, but the motivation kind of died out. Still, it was an interesting concept. Also the paint in this drips a lot more like paint, which is neat.
