I *love* this film and I could write an article/paper on its themes! Slavery, draconian mass incarceration, militarisation of the police and the abandonment of human values. Arguably, we're living in the onset of the gradual events that paved the way for the nightmarish future depicted in EFNY.

This pops up on BBC1/BBC3 periodically and its really grown on me to the point that I now rank it amongst my faves. Swayze succeeds in making Bodhi a charismatic villain - something that many actors can't always pull off. Oh and the Nixon impersonator is a riot! 😁

My favourite Orson Welles film is also my favourite film - Citizen Kane. What a debut and a tour-de-force from start to finish. Edited by Robert Wise (yes, him!) and scored by the legendary Bernard Herrmann. The stellar cast, writing and direction make a fictional story convincingly real. 👏📽️
