Republicans are attempting to pass a bill that would deport immigrants who are accused of committing fraud—not convicted, just accused. Due process is a core value of our country and it is fundamentally un-American to deport someone who hasn't had their day in court.

Republicans claim ICE is deporting “the worst of the worst.” Last week, I conducted an oversight visit to Delaney Hall and found their claim to be utterly false. The conditions at Delaney Hall are deplorable and not fit for any human to be held in, regardless of their immigration status.

I am honored today to lead New York elected officials and advocates demanding a transparent rebuilding process for Penn Station with strong public oversight.

Today, I pressed the FAA to explain exactly what it would take to ban non-essential helicopter flights over the New York metropolitan area. How many more tragic accidents must our region endure before decisive action is taken?

Republicans are bringing a hateful, anti-trans bill to the floor that would force educators to out transgender students and prohibit the teaching of any curriculum that recognizes the existence of transgender people. This bill is disgusting and I am proud to be vehemently against it.

I could not in good conscience vote for the GOP Continuing Resolution, which leave tens of millions of Americans facing higher costs and lost coverage. Democrats put forward a plan to extend ACA tax credits and repeal Medicaid cuts. Republicans refused to even negotiate.

Republicans passed their Don't Say Trans bill that infringes on American students' First Amendment rights by censoring curricula and banning books, and could endanger children by requiring schools to out trans students in certain situations, even if doing so would put them in physical danger.

This bill prioritizes highways over rail and transit infrastructure, omits guardrails to protect the funds from interference from the Trump administration, and worsens the climate emergency.
