The Justice Department doesn't work for Donald Trump. Yesterday, it is again acting like it does by opening a criminal investigation into E. Jean Carroll, who won two civil judgments against him for sexual abuse and defamation.

Posted by the WH. The standard is now that seashells are a federal threat, but the President posting AI video of himself physically attacking a critic is just “lol free speech.” Their rule is that speech is dangerous when it criticizes Trump, harmless when it comes from Trump.

The public deserves competent health leadership. Instead, key federal health posts are vacant, and the ones that are filled include RFK Jr. Dr. Oz, a penile-implant specialist in the infectious disease chain of command and a non-scientist acting FDA commissioner. This is a crisis of competence.

If the administration can pick which court orders count, there is no rule of law. There is only power.

A judge dismissed all charges against the Broadview Six after learning prosecutors communicated with grand jurors outside the jury room, excused dissenting jurors, and redacted misconduct from transcripts. The judge said her trust in the DOJ was broken. Think about how extraordinary that is.

Why does this video seem insane? Because it is. Vance takes a felony case, flattens it into “misdemeanor trespassing,” calls Peters an “innocent grandmother,” credits Trump for a commutation issued by a Democratic governor, then uses that rewritten story to justify possible compensation.

There is a difference between maintaining the National Mall and treating it like a personal branding project. A no-bid contract for a rushed cosmetic overhaul deserves scrutiny, especially when the explanation keeps shifting.

He’s not declassifying UAP files because he believes in transparency. He’s doing it because “It’s literally trending number one. Can you believe it?” That’s the metric now. Not policy outcomes. Not constitutional duty. Trending.

Patel’s performance was not just combative. It was evasive on a core accountability question. If Patel cannot plainly acknowledge that false statements to Congress are criminal, Van Hollen has exposed a much bigger problem than one ugly hearing exchange.

Courts cannot become “empty fronts” for people misusing the legal system. If justice becomes fraud, “going through the motions without content and without meaning,” then the rule of law itself starts to collapse.
