Ahead of tonight's vote on whether to refer the Prime Minister to the Privileges Committee, I closed my speech with the words of Keir Starmer in 2022 when he was calling for a privileges referral. I hope Labour MPs follow the position that Starmer set out in 2022.

'Every meeting I have [with Labour MPs] is "who can we tax in order to pay benefits to others".' This damning comment, from the now-Work and Pensions Secretary, is buried within the Mandelson files released today. Next time Labour says it will "tread more lightly on your lives", remember this...
