Being there for your child’s first moments shouldn’t depend on your paycheck or access to child care, but for millions of Americans, it does. While Trump withholds support for families, parents are left to figure it out on their own. It’s time to put parents first and lower child care costs.

This Care Workers Recognition Month, I’m reflecting on the struggles of care workers in America who are too often overworked and underpaid. Growing up, I saw my mom care for her clients like family and work for pay that was so low she had to take other jobs just to make ends meet.

Prices are out of control, Americans were already struggling in Trump’s economy: his war of choice with Iran has made it even worse. Families are being pushed to the brink, and for what?

Health care isn’t a luxury. When people can’t afford it, they don’t stop getting sick... they just get sicker. Americans are facing that reality. With Republican cuts to Medicaid, expiring ACA subsidies, and rising premiums, families are choosing between getting care or risking everything.

Trump doesn't care about American families... He never has.

Americans were promised lower costs on Day 1. Instead, families are watching their paychecks disappear faster than ever. After months of rising prices, inflation is now outpacing wage growth for the first time in years. That means millions of people are taking a pay cut thanks to Trump.

According to Pete Hegseth, his leadership did not put our troops in, “more of a harm’s way.” But now US troops are coming forward, saying they were not adequately protected. America deserves answers.
