Ouders werden recent opgeschrikt door het bericht dat zorglocaties voor hun kinderen met een meervoudige beperking gaan sluiten. Zowel zorgpartijen als de minister lijken niet in te grijpen. Het is bizar, dat niemand verantwoordelijkheid neemt voor zorg aan de meest kwetsbare kinderen.

Zorgen voor een kind met een beperking doen ouders met liefde. Maar het is ook zwaar. Want ze moeten dag en nacht alert zijn, terwijl er steeds minder hulp is. Onbegrijpelijk dat gezinnen zo aan hun lot worden overgelaten. In het debat drongen we aan op urgentie en oplossingen.

Jongeren, ouders en hulpverleners herkennen het: doorverwezen worden. Met als gevolg frustratie, wachtlijsten en bureaucratie. Dat gebeurt ook in de politiek. Niemand voelt zich écht verantwoordelijk voor jeugdzorg en jeugdbescherming, waardoor problemen steeds groter worden.

Kinderen sluit je niet op. Daar ligt voor ons een harde ondergrens. Daarom was ons voorstel om de mogelijkheid tot detentie van kinderen uit de wet te halen. Teleurstellend genoeg kiest de minderheidscoalitie van D66, CDA en VVD voor de route op rechts. En daarmee voor onnodig hardvochtig beleid.

Mensen kiezen niet voor ziekte, een handicap of mentale problemen. Maar zij vangen wel de hardste klappen. Het kabinet legt de rekening bij mensen die niet kunnen protesteren en soms letterlijk geen stem hebben. Dit zijn laffe bezuinigingen!

24 weken wachten voor traumabehandeling. 22 weken bij een eetstoornis. Vaak na jaren van doorverwijzingen en afgewezen worden. In die tijd staat het leven stil. Zitten families in angst. Terwijl goede en tijdige hulp levens redt. ❤️‍🩹

De mishandeling van twee kinderen, door hun eigen moeder, is geen incident. Zo lang de boosheid en verontwaardiging van Kamerleden zich beperkt tot situaties die groot in de media komen. En er geen énkele prioriteit ligt bij structurele verbetering, is het wachten op het volgende drama.
