i'm adding some special cases for bridges between high buildings. they get special cutouts in the roof, and embankments at the edges of the bridge.

ok that's the top to bottom order of operations + all lookups + inlined interpolation for the new renderer! i just added depth test. without further optimizations we are at 15ms, just barely squeaking in to hit 60fps! about twice the performance of the previous renderer.

yeah i find i am putting a lot of thought into hovering /just/ on the edge of ambiguity. do shadows eat information, how crisp are the edges, is that a house etc. here are some color things i'm messing with for you! this is randomized shadow masks.

ok this is promising- with shadows (not rendering) for everything, it's at 10ms. but that's only with inlined point samples, not interpolation. if i turn on interpolation w/ a function, it's 23ms or so. i'm going go try inlining.

why, sony (see terribly left drift, end of video).

i think the refactored render basically works. this is all the additional geometry layers, minus depth test + span fill. 15ms currently, which is close but i can get it in the zone.

i thought i would take a stab at just projection for the additional primitives, which resulted in the most baroque graphical glitch

today i'm doing generative work. i have two heights of bridges, and i'm going to add higher bridges as well. i'm also going to work on special cases for how bridges connect to buildings and walls. i really like the compound curves around these 1st floor ones, and i want to continue that language.
