This morning on @jeremyvine.bsky.social I talked about how important it is to learn the lessons of Iraq. The Prime Minister is right not to be dragged into another war, and to stand up to Trump’s pressure on the Middle East.

We need more women putting themselves forward for leadership, which is why it’s great to see Cllr Nicky Brennan leading Birmingham Labour, the city’s only female political group leader. Too many women are put off by abuse & intimidation in public life. That must be alway challenged!

Britain must always put its people first - no one, not even Trump, should tell us otherwise. The Prime Minister is right to stand up to Trump and defend our citizens and our interests.

A £30m government investment to tackle crime on our high streets is hugely welcome. Erdington’s Operation Fearless showed that when we invest and work together, we can tackle these challenges and make a difference. I’ll keep pushing to make our high streets safer for everyone.
