On the day that Irish citizens are abused in captivity after being kidnapped by Israel, the Irish government plans to vote against our #VoteToSanctionIsrael bill. Words are not enough, action must be taken in the face of genocide. We have to redouble our pressure to stop Irish complicity.

Government measures could be wiped out by next week... We need to take real action to combat the cost of living crisis. We need to open the books of these energy companies, and price controls to prevent profiteering, as well as ultimately renationalising our energy back into public control.

It doesn’t matter if the Taoiseach's father drove buses, it matters that he made every working person in this country worse off in the last budget while making multi-billion euro companies even richer. We need to fight against them for an #AffordableIreland.

Some good news - After nearly 12 years vacant, 61 Swiftbrook Drive is finally back on the market. It's up for auction, so we hope this will become a much-needed home for a family. We've been campaigning for a number of years on this property, and last year we brought a motion to SDCC.

There are lessons here, as the government hangs onto power. Don't trust the fake independents. And more importantly, people power protests works! This must be the start of a new phase of militant, effective protest involving trade unions & communities mobilising for everyone on the cost of living.

One reason people are so exposed to these price increases is because of the capitalist class' addiction to fossil fuels. Any additional renewable energy is miniscule compared to the increased energy eaten up by the increase in data centres. No to data centres. No to dirty fracked gas.

It's erosion of renters' rights. With 4 Airbnbs available for every 1 long term rental across the country, this government wants to push people into these 'shed-sits', where they've no access to the RTB, can be evicted without notice, and where they are not entitled to privacy from their landlord.

The legitimate protest actions taken by fuel protesters (that forced the government to make limited concessions) are the reason this ‘no confidence’ vote is taking place. We must broaden out the fuel protests & bring them to another level with mass participation from working people & trade unions.

Fair play to Eoghan & Denman, and for all the members, supporters, and volunteers who contributed to the hard work in the run up to the by-election. We'll continue our campaigning and our work in our communities now, but the by-election has made clear just how unpopular FF & FG are right now.
