This Trump Administration has revoked media access over news coverage that didn't flatter the President, attacked outlets that published content that Trump doesn't like, and launched baseless investigations into Trump's perceived political enemies. Gov't censorship is a threat to all Americans.

I am proposing a very simple deal to reopen the government: - Include a one-year clean extension of the current health care tax credits to immediately address Americans’ rising costs. - Create a bipartisan committee that will continue negotiations on reforms ahead of next year’s enrollment period

The Trump Administration is trampling all over Americans’ rights and Congress’ authority. Our Constitution empowers Congress to be a check on a lawless Administration, and I’m discouraged by how little my Republican colleagues are pushing back on these abuses.

Without clearly explaining to Congress and the American people why we’re at war in the first place, the Trump Administration is putting our servicemembers into harm's way and sending more taxpayer money to a war with Iran. It’s simply unacceptable.

The Affordable Care Act is a lifeline for Michiganders like Alana. After being laid off, she was able to afford health care for her family while finding new work because of the ACA premium tax credits. This is why we are fighting to make health insurance more affordable.

Michiganders are bearing the costs of Trump’s cuts to health care and Republicans’ refusal to address the health care affordability crisis. We must extend the Affordable Care Act premium subsidies to give Americans some financial relief right now.

As we spend this day with family and friends, we must all take a moment to reflect on the significance that Memorial Day holds.
