Two years ago, I became the first African to receive the Jaime Brunet International Prize for documenting “more than a hundred human rights abuses committed by mercenaries from the Wagner Group and their allies in West Africa.” Sadly, Wagner atrocities still continue in Africa.

Across West Africa, Russian-backed entities are spreading disinformation through media outlets & social platforms, encouraging people to embark on perilous journeys to Europe with false promises of opportunity and prosperity. These campaigns are designed to destabilize.

With sadness, I spoke about massacre, rape and human rights atrocities committed by Russian paramilitaries deployed in West and Central Africa at the Oslo Freedom Forum in Norway. It was shocking to so many.

Took time in Paris to speak about the activities of Russian paramilitaries involved in the rape of dozens of girls and massacre of hundreds of civilians in West & Central Africa. Also explained how Russia targets European politics using hundreds of trolls operating in Africa.

In Kenya, families protested in Nairobi demanding the government bring home their sons duped into joining Russia's army for the Ukraine war. Many were lured with promises of decent jobs as drivers or guards, but ended up on the front lines. Over 1,000 Kenyans have been recruited
